I strongly recommend this bag for those whose needs for transporting rack stuff and recording in a mobile way are serious!
After you have set up your rack equipments inside the bag, all you need is getting into the recording place, open the front and the of the bag, and plug the cables.
I have four pieces of gear attached in the bag: an 8 channel audio interface (Fast Track Ultra 8r); an 8 channel headphones amplifier (Behringer); a SanSamp RBI for bass and DI; and a 2 channel mic preamp Audient Mico (1/2 rack space). The power cables are all organised and already plugged in a power line filter (that goes inside the bag too)! Audient Mico goes into the first 2 channels of my Fast Track (line level) and is always plugged! The headphone amp is always plugged with the outputs of my interface.
So all I need is to open the bag, turn on the power supply and connect the mic cables in the interface and Mico!
Lovin’ it so much!

Fits my double mic system and a Furman Power Conditioner just fine. Easy to mount items into it, and the zipped front and back allow easy access. The pocket on the side allows for storage of cables or microphones.

Well made, strong, and sturdy – much like other Gator products that Iโve purchased. And the case is lighter than a same size hard rack case would be – although it does get a bit hefty feeling after mounting three rack components in it. The zippers are heavy-duty and work well. I like the shallow depth in this case, thereโs room for my mounted components and still plenty of room for their power cords and connecting cables. Also, this case is a little shorter and narrower than a comparable hard case – making it easier to pack into my vehicle. Very pleased overall.

Really well made and does the job perfectly. Good quality zips should last a while

Great protection for pro audio gear without the bulk. If you’re looking to pack your gear among heavy road cases, this is not the case for you. This is a light weight gig-bag with an internal rack frame. It will cover your gear, and make it easy to carry. It’s not meant to be tossed around or banged against hard surfaces. If you need that type of protection, buy a road case at 3x the price. Gator stands behind their limited lifetime warranty. I’ve found their customer service to be phenomenal. So if you need a lightweight case for your pro audio gear, don’t hesitate to buy from Gator. The attached pic shows a 3U Gator next to a 4U SKB hard plastic case. See how bulky the end caps are on the SKB. Better protection for protruding knobs and controls, but bulky. How much more can you squeeze into your gig-mobile? I think most users of the Gator cases are not on tour. These cases make much more sense for everyday folks trying to get to the gig without damaging their gear. Last comment- buy the right size for your gear requirements. These are standard rack rails. If you can’t fit your gear, you bought the wrong size case.

Great sturdy gear bag. Unit screws are just a hair too close so units had a snug fit. Other than that, itโs a great bag for traveling with gear.

This product is absolutely great as a 2 unit gator tote with wheels. It holds 2 sets of microphone receivers and the the main power filter bar. It is light weight, compact and with the wheels extremely convenient. Well built and worth the money for a working musician.

Perfect for my portable recording rig. Used a short 2RU drawer (ASIN B004WOHH24), a Furman conditioner and my Focusrite interface.
There is a 5th space down where the wheels would interfere with any equipment mounted there. I got a blank with standard chassis cutouts (ASIN B00YSYUKZY) and used this to make a connection bay for rear of the interface, power input, USB-B to the recording interface and a USB charger port using Neutrik chassis-mount connectors.
The wheels roll smooth and quiet. I wish the handle extended a little higher, but that’s because I’m tall and have this issue with most roll-around suitcases.
The front cover panel is a little awkward, as it stays attached. You could fold it under, or if using at the edge of a table, let it hang.
If you want to take this on a plane as carry-on, you would need the 3RU case, as this one is slightly too large to meet the carry-on restrictions. It would probably still be too heavy to qualify. The shoulder strap is pretty much useless, because the weight of the case and a couple of pieces of gear and a drawer with a few things in it makes it hella heavy.

I had high hopes for these cases, but the zipper broke the second time they were used. If the zippers end up on the bottom, they can get snagged on things and tear out the entire zipper track. Not super useful to have a case that doesn’t close.

This is a great portable road case. I recently went from an analogue sound board to Bluetooth driven system, but still wanted to keep some rack effects and power supply. This case was the ticket – strong, easy access to front and rear with the zippered access panels. Handle is well padded and the shoulder strap is sturdy.
