Rex Gill –
We were so impressed with 4K/UHD Blu-Ray content on this TV that we ended up building a movie collection shortly after it was installed. The 77″ size makes the detail in 4K content significantly more noticeable compared to our previous 65″ OLED TV from a few years ago.
This generation of OLED TVs are extremely bright, perhaps too bright for a dark room. The improved brightness is probably the main thing that we noticed after the size of the TV.
The colors look amazing. I read that this TV covers 100% of every gamut in use today, and it does seem to be the case.
Works perfectly with Apple TV and PS5 connected via an AVR. Apple TV 4:2:2 mode works with this TV as does HDR10 and HDR12 content.
We used to notice some judder on our previous LG C1 TV from something in the video pipeline, but that seems to be gone with this new TV, perhaps due to faster processing on the TV for tone-mapping or resampling. Up-sampled HD content looks and “feels” better in terms of smoothness and clarity in side-by-side comparisons.
Viewing angles seem to be 180 degrees – Colors look the same no matter the viewing angle.
Honestly not sure how Samsung is going to be able to improve this TV from here. I don’t really want the image to be any brighter or it’s going to start hurting my eyes. Video is smooth from Plex, Blu-Ray, and streaming services. It already has perfect color accuracy. In terms of field of view it feels like being near the back of a theater from the couch, except the image quality is significantly better than any projector I’ve used at home or in theaters. Maybe the last TV we’ll ever buy?

I’ve been with OLED since LG released their curved 1080p panels some time ago. Heard all the talk about QD-OLED so I thought I’d take the plunge.
Not disappointed in the decision.
The UI takes some getting used and the lack of Dolby Vision isn’t a deal breaker for me. Samsungs color volume and features more than make up for it. After getting used to the interface I will say it is snappier than LGs as with them I would constantly run into stutters and lag.
As for screen uniformity? It is perfect. Not a single smudge or faint line or anything.
The speakers are garbage. Get a soundbar or speaker system asap.
One other issue that I am running into is with Dolby Atmos and the Xbox Series X. When running 4k/120Hz settings along with Atmos the sound will cut out every few seconds. For those running into this issue the fix for now is to use Dolby Digital instead or switch to 4k/60 instead. I didn’t have this issue with my previous LG C2 so I’m hoping a patch will fix it as I mainly use this TV for gaming.
Overall a fantastic screen. The design feels premium and the super thin panel while have you constantly glancing at it.

On back speakers are clear but thin sounding.
Needs sound bar is as a must to fill the whole card. Although the picture alone with no sound is Amazing to make up for the lame speakers. Lol
Update!
This screen is Stunningly Amazing.
It will quite literally have you doing double takes when you walk into the room. Every movie in your collection will become a whole new experience. We only thought we saw great films. Prepare yourselves to dust off every thing you have ever seen.
Don’t forget you have other things to do in life.
It’s going to keep drawing you back in front of it.
Television has been transformed into a new word.
Feelavision!!!
It’s a OMG on even things you’ve seen 100’s of times.
It’s price makes it cost prohibitive for many.
This too is about to change May 1st with the 90 series release. It is the less feature packed version.
I’m glad I did not wait though.
Way WAY more than I expected. The demos at retail outlets simply can not do this justice. So pawn your wedding rings your children or sale a kidney.
Get it🤯🫡😜💥🤩

Pros:
– The display is incredibly bright for an OLED. Makes my 2016 LG OLED look completely dull by comparison. Vivid colors and deep blacks. I read somewhere 1,000+ nits of peak brightness, and I believe it.
– Samsung’s OLED technology is allegedly more resistant to burn in than LG’s, and slightly brighter, which made me go Samsung after years with LG.
– The input box with single connector to TV is well thought out. 4 HDMI ports plus all the expected other ports at this price range
– I like the space gray color of the back, and of course it is very slim as all OLEDs are
Cons:
– Compared to LG software, Samsung software is bloatware. They want you to use the software and services they are pushing. XBOX advertisements are one sponsored item you’re exposed to on this very expensive TV. Also not sure what Ion TV is, but I am sure I do not like having it start playing every single time I turn on my TV. I use Apple TV with the Samsung tv and much prefer the Apple interface.
-Samsung remote does not get along with my Sonos speaker. I have read elsewhere that the Samsung remote doesn’t pair well with Sonos which is a major bummer. I’ve been using my Apple TV remote and Sonos app to control volume.
– Another unfeature is the lack of ability to adjust inputs easily either on the remote or on the tv menu. I don’t think you can do it at all on the remote (Samsung, please let me know if I’m wrong), and on the TV you have to navigate to “connected devices”, all the way at the bottom of the menu in smaller font than everything Samsung is pushing.
Verdict:
Overall I’m happy with the product because the display is simply jaw-dropping. I just wish Samsung prioritized “connected devices” more in the use of the TV.
Tip: In all settings under “connection” and then “external device manager”, turn on any net+ (aka CEC) and input signal plus for all HDMI inputs to get everything working best.
Edit: My unit started malfunctioning and cutting the picture when playing video. It also began to display streaks of light on the screen. I returned it but ordered another, hoping it doesn’t have the same issue. Make sure when ordering this TV from Amazon the seller is Amazon – they have the best return policy.
