Lots of interesting little stories. Can be picked up when having a short break
Danielle Zarcufsky –
Purchased for my 9 yo but gifted to grandpa seemed more fitting for the content in the book. Would not have interested my child.
Bruce S –
Had me laughing, pondering and filling some voids in my memory, and doing some research to learn more.Truly very interesting bedtime reading
Helen Begin –
Good

This appears to be a series of stories a child might appreciate. It is not. There are interesting incidents , conflicts and the like that seem to be taken from National Geographic type sources and would appeal most to adults. Children under 10 have no interest.
Lisa Harris –
Gift for my granddaughter. She loved it.

I enjoyed reading this excellent interesting book. I learned from this book some facts that I did not know before reading this book. Some of the interesting facts that the author of this book mentions in this book include the following information: Some foods started out with different names than they have today. Candy corn used to be called chicken feed. Eggo waffles were originally froffles. Cotton candy was originally called Fairy Floss. McDonald’s Big Mac was originally named the Aristocrat or Blue Ribbon Burger. In the year of 1943, the U.S. Government made the decision that sliced bread was not to be sold in the United States. It was because of the wrapping the bread came in. You need to use wrapping if you slice bread in advance. This was during World War II with rationing of some items. In the 1800s, it was very rare for any person to reach the age of 50 with their natural teeth. It wasn’t until the 1870’s decade that human teeth stopped being used as dentures.
Very good value for all 3 bigger than I thought. Thanks Gin. –
Yes get it, good book alsorts of things you didn’t know about in one story it told about the 38 day war between the Emu’s and farmers in Australia. I couldn’t believe it !!
Tucker Dawg –
Some good stories, some “so so”

Interesting and funny short stories that my teenager actually wants to read.

Bought for my daughter’s stocking this Christmas. She says the stories are “for adults”, but they haven’t seemed inappropriate- just different than she’s used to reading…but bonus…she’s actually reading (it usually takes some convincing)!

Hubby and I read one of these a day to each other. We find them interesting and sometimes amusing, definitely a topic of conversation.
