Fit my 2018 Mazda 3 HB perfectly and was super easy to install.
I was initially concerned that this filter had fewer pleats than the OEM (20 vs 25), but that’ doesn’t appear to reduce performance.
Performance improvements are perceptible but not major. Getting off the line seems easier. Engine actually makes less noise now.
As for filtering efficiency, FWIW, OEM filter has a 99.7% filtering efficiency. This AEM is 99.3% efficient.
After two years, this will have paid for itself. Dry, not oiled, simplifies maintenance and ownership.
I’ll keep the OEM filter around for when I wash this AEM filter and need to let it dry.

Ordered this for my 2014 Mazda 3 s GT. At 80k miles, I was way past due for a new air filter. Dealer was charging an arm and a leg so I came across this reusable one. Installation was pretty simple, pop off 2 clips, take the old one out and put this new one in place. I have to say that the rubber around the new air filter does have some oil on it so wear gloves. It was a perfect fit as well!
It is hard to tell if there were any performance gains but it’s a peace of mind knowing the air filter is clean.

Couldn’t find an OEM air filter that fit my car locally (2014 Mazda Atenza) and found this on the AEM website after a bit of trial and error with other products that lead to lots of research. Amazon said part wouldn’t fit the car but decided to bite the bullet based on other reviews. It was a perfect fit and have been running without any issues one month on. Will update review if any issues arise but all in all very happy with the product.

Perfect fit, good price point, and money savings in the long term. No discernible improvement in fuel mileage, but I drive primarily interstate driving at roughly 70-80 mph, for 90 miles each day. I also don’t expect just swapping out air filter is going to throw gobs of added horsepower, with everything else being stock on the car. My purpose was to save money over the long term. I drive between 30-40 thousand miles a year, and if I was to replace the air filter every 10k miles, it would quickly add up.

Wanted to buy the popular K&N filter but after a quick research, I realized that filter filtration is very bad and the oil might cause problem to the maf flow sensor
This Aem filter base on the YouTube filtration and airflow test compared to bmc, k&n and aem. Aem have the best filtration and best air flow and without the oil damaging the maf flow sensor

Others have touched on the excellent quality and fit of the filter so I won’t mention them, but I’ll go into the money saving aspect of it.
Bought this 4 years ago since I wanted to save money and use something that could be periodically cleaned so I don’t contribute to our landfills. I intend to drive my 2015 Mazda 3 for a long time (10+ years) so it makes sense to me.
I bought this for $32 and their air filter cleaner is $13, so a total one time cost of $45. Single use replacement filters on Amazon range from $10-20, so if I go through 3 “lifecycles” of the air filter I’ll break even. The maintenance schedule for my Mazda says to replace the engine air filter every 30 months or 37500 miles. (AEM might say to clean it in longer intervals) So if I drive my car for 90 months (7.5 years) or 112,500 miles from when I first installed this air filter, I’ll break even. Looks like this is a long term investment.
Some people might say they got better performance with this filter, but I didn’t notice a difference so YMMV (haha).
It also angers me how auto shops and dealerships charge so much to replace these air filters or even a cabin air filter, but if you’re reading this review that probably means you’re someone who does this on their own and are just as flabbergasted.

This product so far is great. A little cheaper then the oiled K&N filters and immediately noticed better throttle response and a bit more power higher in the rev range. Was easy to put in and if you car doesn’t run well with a oiled filter like mine this will be a far better choice.

These AEM dryflow filters are of the best quality. I’ve bought many for different vehicles and they all perform great. I used to buy K&N but the oil on the filters gets sucked into the intake and coast the mass air flow sensor causing issues with airflow. You will not have any issues with oil with the dryflow filter. It’s less restrictive than the stock paper filters and also saves you money over time. They are very easy to clean, AEM say every 50k miles, but I do mine once a year. They make special cleaner but it can be pricey. An alternative is buying a bottle of simple green, spraying the filter, hosing it out until the soap is gone, then let it dry out for a few hour, and then put it back on.

Engine air filter fits perfectly in my CX 5, engine runs smoothly,. No change in gas mileage or noticeable increase in performance but expect as it is well constructed and can easily be cleaned, it will work for a long time. Very pleased.

Interesting change after installing this on my 2012 Mazda 3 iGT w/ 2.0L SkyActive engine. The typical Mazda engine drone was muted using this filter, no high revving and the spark plug ignition clicking was not as prominent. The engine was quiter, but when applying the accelerator it had more of a growl/weight to it. When driving I felt like it was slightly more responsive, but the whole vehicle felt ‘heavy’. Not sure what to make of it, I have mixed feelings.

Perfect fit for my CX5. Decided to go with the non oiled over K&N, due to the rumors of damaged mass air sensors. Not sure if I believe that but decided not to take the chance. Time will tell on mileage or horsepower increases. Sounds a little bit “throatier” when dumping the accelerator.
