Been using these AEM pumps for years. Never had an issue. Good quality pumps from what I’ve experienced. I’ve got 2 peeing a 700hp Subaru flawlessly with radium engineering brackets and regulators. Good to see AEM still going after all these years.

had to modify the pump housing a bit but otherwise near direct fit
the factory pump is a slightly smaller diameter but the top is identical
on the 2011 FJ cruiser
Modifications:
Dremel work to make a little more room in the hole/tube the pump slips into
factory pump is loose fitting this AEM is very tight (about 1 mm bigger in diameter)
yours may fit better but mine was very tight
(do not cut or break through the inner housing filter that is around the pump)
The inner pump housing mount ring with clips gets removed
(use as legs on bottom of pump later)
The pump is about 3/4″ longer than the factory and will hit the bottom of the main housing without legs or something (made from the inner housing mount ring cut up & zip tied)
this is to keep the pump from crushing the screen on the floor of the outer housing
You will use the new screen (little star washer is a pain but required)
height fitment is tight but just enough room
Im using stainless zip ties to hold the inner pump housing still as the upper mount ring no longer works for this longer pump.. to stay off the bottom
reuse the white collar that holds the O-ring up on the output hose port
clock the pump before pushing it in…it will be too tight to remove easily
Wires/soldering etc not needed. as the factory pump wires fit clip right in
all the OEM plastic is fragile and snappy so be gentle
pump is very quiet…took 10 seconds of cranking to restart
clean everything at every step
Toyota told me $570 for the pump and $1500 for a full assembly + labour
AEM is a proper brand name and this will do the job with a little extra elbow grease

My Supra makes 700whp with a 55psi base pressure and 20# of boost, meaning that I need to feed E85 at 70PSI. I run two of these pumps in parallel and they do a fine job of supplying large amounts of fuel at relatively high pressure. The first pump does 80% of the work.
After an hour of cruising, my fuel temperature rose from 71F to 86F. These pumps can be PWM-controlled, which would reduce this minor temperature rise.

Used this pump for my old Pontiac with EFI. Put a few OEM pumps in it and ethanol in the gas these days killed them. (I don’t use the car much). This pump was almost a direct replacement for the OEM, just had to splice wires. Came with filter sock, pigtail, hardware, and a chunk of hose. Fired right up, good pressure, (40 ish) and now i don’t have to worry about ethanol destroying it. I’m happy with it.

Sightly taller than OEM, so very tight to fit with rubber boot and OEM filter pipe without trimming (can see flex in metal frame). Fuel sock is tiny next to OEM so re-used that instead. OEM harness is plug and play with no need to solder/crimp, although a spare connector is included. Car running much happier – 2007 WRX (Prodrive 270 BHP).

Used these in a few E85 conversions over the years and they work fantastic. Quiet, impressive flow. Great pump for most any boosted 4 or 6 cylinder application. I’m sure some boosted V8 and big block guys will probably outflow this pump, but I can’t imagine anything with less than 8 cylinders pushing this thing to it’s limit. I still have one from 2017 that’s going strong. Generally needs only minor modifications to fit into a GM canister.

At first this was an excellent pump! I have a 1992 Volvo 940GL with the Bendix Regina engine management. My car only has 1 pump and that’s the in-tank pump. I need high flow to ensure proper pressure at the fuel rail so after trying 2 other pumps without success, I tried this one. It worked excellent (at first). A couple months into using I had an issue where it popped my 10A fuse. I read elsewhere that it may need as much as 15A so I upgraded the fuse. This was only a temporary fix as about 6 months after that, it popped the 15A fuse too. Just for s’s and giggles I tried a 20A fuse and that popped immediately. I only have 14GA wire running to it and I didn’t want to stress the electrical by increasing fuse size again. I went to the tank and used my ohm meter to check the pump. Almost a dead short (0.7 Ohms). Long story short, the pump seized up on me in less than a year. Not wanting to go through this yet again, I ponied up the extra ca$h for an OEM Volvo pump and have been running solid since.
To each their own, personally I would have loved this pump to be the end-all solution but I was unfortunate. You may have better luck so take my tale of caution at face value.

Expected more than a year out of product. Will no longer attempt in tank setups, bosch 044 with external regulator has been going on strong for 5 years. There is no comparison. Buy one of these every year, or spend the money for a quality external with regulator and fohgetaboutit.

that damn corn.
I understand that the original version should of been ok with 10%, but…
went ahead and got the e-85 flex fuel version and it’s been working so far, but time will tell.
