FINAL UPDATE: The power supply is currently connected to a 22TB hard drive in an external enclosure which serves as a backup and is off most of the time. On the occasions that I have used it — sometimes for hours at a time to copy files — there have been NO unexpected shutdowns. The power supply has worked reliably for the better part of the year.
UPDATE: I checked the power supply and found that the 120V cord was not plugged all the way into the power supply. The loose connection may have tripped the power supply’s built-in safety protection causing it to temporarily shut down. I plugged the cord back into the power supply, making sure it was firmly seated this time, and the power supply is now working again. I’ll do some further testing with an external DVD/BD drive to make sure I’ve solved the problem.
ALITOVE did reach out to address my problem, so I need to give them credit for that.
ORIGINAL REVIEW: I connected the power supply to an external hard drive that was used periodically. The power supply itself was connected to a surge-protected switch and was off most of the time. One day I had the hard drive switched on, and while the hard drive was idling, the power supply suddenly gave out. I used a different power supply for the hard drive and it works fine, so the hard drive is not the source of the problem.
Overall, the total usage time of the power supply was probably around 20 hours.

The cheap power supply on my Zidoo Z9X keeps going out. so I bought this as a replacement. This unit is much better built and far more capable. The Z9X runs fine now, and I bought a second one for my other 12V needs.

The power supply has the proper specs to power my monitor and had all parts I needed to modify connection. I had to use the included dongle to marry the connection of my Monitor to the power supply because the output power connection wa the wrong size. If ordering as a replacement make sure you have the old connection for your monitor in case this output connection does not fit.

I bought this to replace the adapter that came with an Insignia TV which was hilariously under amp by an order of magnitude.
Don’t buy Insignia products.
That said, this adapter restored the TV back to its full potential. The picture went from garbled to crystal clear while the audio went from silent to audible.
Excellent adapter.

At first use of plug adapter on a 12v 3amp water pump it melted and stopped functioning. It was used all but five minutes before scent and smoke were detected at point of failure. Not sure if power supply was affected. nothing to test on as of yet. Plug adapter in photo is garbage.

The product is pretty basic, a good plug for a 120V circuit on one end, and a 12 Volt barrel connector on the other end. I converted an old fluorescent lamp to LED and used this to power the LED portion. It has lots of power and the advice I read was to use a higher power than needed. Got it. All works great. The device gets only moderately warm during operation for a long time, showing that I chose the power rating properly.
