Minnie Ramos –
I love this book. I learned so much information that I’ve put into practice and has helped me to feel healthy.

I enjoyed this reminder of what I needed to do to stay healthy into my ‘old age’ and love Suzi’s ‘can do’ attitude and her great dress sense.
No new information for me personally as I have been reading about nutrition for over 25 years and work out at the gym and brisk walk daily……..but to think about some meditation was great as a calming and focussing way of being.
Great tips in all areas.
Love her videos…….. Go Suzi!!
Heather –
A really useful book with some helpful suggestions. Yes, lots of it we probably already know to some extent, but Suzi writes in a genuinely caring style and brings lots of information together in one easy to read book. Not sure what book the last reviewer was reading but i didn’t find anything about drinking your own urine !! Lots of helpful tips which motivated me to try dome alternative ways of dealing with age related issues such as osteoarthritis. Thank you Suzi, a great book. Helpful to know which supplements have some scientific basis for working and which might be less helpful.

I met Suzi Grant and she is a down to earth, relatable person. As a hardcore vegan, I thought I knew just about everything there is to know about clean eating and clean living. But Suzi’s book is full of healthy suggestions and tips, most of which Suzi herself practices. Funny and clever, I highly recommend this book!

I came across wonderful Suzi Grant via her YouTube channel, also called Alternative Ageing, and her writing style is every bit as fluent, thoughtful and enjoyable as her vlogging. This book is absolutely PACKED with important, potentially life-changing, perhaps even life-SAVING information, communicated in a way that feels genuinely supportive and encouraging. Thank you Suzi for delivering crucial health messages with such a light touch, and making the dreaded ageing process feel a little less daunting! I expect to keep this delightful, inspiring book by my side for many years to come <3

I wish I’d had a copy of this when it was first published in 2006.
I have read various books & magazine articles over the last few years about how to try to slow down the ageing process & some things I have tried seemed to work but as most often happens, life gets in the way & we tend to stop doing the things that are hard work for an easy but (as usually turns out) unhealthy life.
I’ve always been told I don’t look my age (at least 10-15 years younger) due to being fortunate enough to have the ‘I look younger than I am’ gene. However over the years knowing this made me lazy; a lack of sleep, low consumption of water, rounding my shoulders (poor posture), not exercising (loss of muscle) & eating ALL the wrong foods, (especially chocolate) is now catching up with me. I started to look critically at photos of myself & I could see that I was starting to look my age & older.
Born in the 1960’s I’ve now reached the age where suddenly everything is so much harder to do & achieve, such as making sure I get that elusive 7-8 hours sleep each night, making myself exercise regularly & effectively at least 5 days a week & putting down the chocolate bar & picking up & eating that apple instead.
This book however is helping me to keep on doing what I need to do to stay healthy & motivated.
It full of very useful facts & information & is in an interesting easy to read format. It is suitable for any age group but most especially us Baby Boomers. One point of interest is the reference to Linseeds or Flaxseeds as they are often known. I’ve been including these in my diet for about a year now & they do seem to be helping to improve my digestion & complexion.
I have both the paperback version & the Kindle version of this book so I can dip in & out at my leisure. The only let down is a Technical Point: the fact the Kindle version doesn’t have a ‘Go To’ table of contents. You can enter page numbers that you can look up in the hard copy version but that’s annoying especially if you haven’t got it to hand to refer to.
REQUEST: Please update the Kindle version with a table of contents. Thanks!
Anyway, I’m off to do my exercises, eat that apple & get an early night.

would not buy anything again from here . the book the would have been a gift had a big chunk out of the pages . can’t believe someone would sell such a mess .

I loved the content of this book, it is well written, informative and a book I would like to keep on my bookshelf for years to come. Sadly the quality of the paper and binding used is of very poor quality, the paper is thin and cheap and the cover board much too flimsy. The cover design is fun and has gold foil but to save money the cover does not have the protection of any lamination. At £8.99 Penguin have cut too many corners and not done this book service!
