Install a Eero 6+ wi-fi system replacing a Netgear nighthawk router with integrated switch. I have my ring alarm, ooma, media box hardwired. Loosing the ports in the nighthawk meant I needed a switch. This refurbished device was cheap and functional.

My outdated splitter was holding our internet hostage at 100mbs or lower, now its at around 300mbs back where its supposed to be! Hopefully this box will get 10 + years of use before average internet speed is well past 1gbs!
Also now the wifi in the building is much better as a result!

Amazon shows this as a NEW product. But when you read the description, you find that it is actually RENEWED. It comes with a certificate thanking you for buying a “certified” renewed product. That’s a real joke. 🙁 Switch powers up and that is it. All 8 ports are dead. No functionality at all. Product box had been opened when it arrived. Everything was there. When I plugged it in, the power light came on. When I attempted to use the switch, there was no connectivity in any of the 8 ports. Obviously, this item was defective, returned previously and ONLY tested to power on. Obviously NO testing of functionality was done.
STAY AWAY from Amazon RENEWED products. They are a JOKE! 🙁 HUGE waste of my time. Don’t let them waste yours. 🙁

I purchased this along with Amazon’s eero mesh system. The eero only has one extra ethernet port after the cable from the modem is inserted. My system has the TV, a smart home hub, and a few other ethernet cables plugged into the old router, so I needed extra ports. This was my first hub purchase and it is pretty easy to get working. Just plug in the power and the cables and you are good to go. Note to new users (I didn’t know this but found it when reading instructions): the cable from the router goes first into this hub, then up to your wifi router. Otherwise, easy-peazy.
