The reason for my purchase: I drive to many areas and cities where I’m not familiar with their roads.
Yes, I have a smart phone that could show me my route, but it’s not safe taking my eyes off the road and often it’s too dark out to see street signs quickly & easily.
I also like that my Garmin 52 Speaks To Me advance warning so I can merge into the correct exit lane.
** This is my 2nd or 3rd Garmin. I’d literally “be lost” without having one. **

I moved “AWAY” from the iPhones and bought a workman’s type heavy duty flip phone no NAV! So I bought this for my my 2013 RAM and updated it as soon as it was charged. It works great, clear screen and good size for me. My Ram doesn’t have bult in NAV like my Jeep so this was a great purchases!

I purchased this renewed. It works, generally speaking, although occasionally it comes up with strange routes and will, for example, take you back a different way than it brought you to a place for no apparent reason. From the beginning, it had virtually no battery life. Even after fully charged, when disconnected from power it will go dead within a minute or two (I am not referring to the auto-off when you turn off your car ignition). The touchscreen is very insensitive. It requires full attention and hard pushes to register a selection and will often register a selection different than the one you wanted.

I had a Garmin that I bought in 2011 that recently stopped working. I bought this one as a replacement and I’m so sorry I did.
The worst part of this GPS is the delay in providing details as you are following the directions. For example…it says turn right at the next light. So I do and then it takes this thing 45 to 75 seconds till it says and shows the next instructions and 8 out of 10 times it has to recalculate because I’ve driven past the next turn!! It’s a horrible purchase.

This purchase was because I could no longer get updates for my old Garmin. Screen size was like going from an old TV to a wide screen. I purposely didn’t get an even bigger screen. I drive a Subaru Crosstrek and there’s only so much space. Very clear picture. For me, easy to use as there aren’t a lot of fancy changes from my old Garmin. I’m not launching into space. I just want to get around the Tri-state area and back home. No problem with it being a reconditioned unit. Packaging was new and clearly states that it’s reconditioned. I checked quite a few replacements and the reviews. This one fits the bill.

This is my 1st GPS navigator. I’m on my 4th dash cam, so I wasn’t confused when I opened the box. I intentionally got the 52 because it’s almost primitive when compared to the other Garmin navigators. Immediately I liked the touch screen menu. However! Most unfortunately there is no Bluetooth like the description incorrectly says, so I can’t use the available online apps because they don’t recognize my device. But hey! I paid $65 to learn, and so I’m learning. The menu presents basic, no frills options to choose from and it’s really easy, unlike some of the dashcams I’ve had. My suction cup comes loose from the windshield after about 20 minutes, so I came up with an alternative mounting location and configuration. Like I say, I didn’t spend $350 to $500 on this and I’m not upset about anything. I will get a very nice Garmin later on – once I get the hang of it with this learning model. In addition to the wonderful touch screen menu, it takes the destination I inpute and talks me through it, the voice is clear and loud enough and everything is turning out wonderfully. I’m upgrading my review from a three to a four. I emplaced a 32g memory card and downloaded the updates. I drive with it on all the time because essentially I drive through a speed trap on my way to work and it beeps whenever I exceed the speed limit. The graphics are in my opinion very good.
