I’m an IT consultant with 30 years experience. I’ve tried 8 different 6E routers out in the field and decided to try this one.
It is in perfect condition out of the box and is about as easy to setup as anyone could ask for.
I have WiFi 6E, WiFi 6 and WiFi 5 and WiFi 4 devices on my home network. This router performs well with all devices at default settings. After scanning all the channels and selecting them manually it really is impressive.
I’ve found the Wi-Fi 6 devices really perform the best and I’m getting great speeds close and far. The only weak link is WiFi 6E distance performance which is to be expected but up close it performs better than other routers I have tried. I also don’t like the add on security pay as you go but I just ignore it and don’t use it. If I had children at home I would probably consider paying for the security features so no harm no foul. Very pleased with this router as a standalone in my large apartment.

This product is supposedly rated for 2500 ft. Don’t believe it. My shop is maybe 15 yards from the house and it makes the connection at 2g but drops internet connection randomly just because. Wifi is still not connected. I checked the router from my phone and it shows it has internet connectivity. I have to toggle wifi off/on on my laptop to get it back, maybe. At 2g its very unreliable. 5g won’t even connect. Is this junky router worth it? Not a chance.

Have had Netgear routers for many years. All performed well. This router is exceptional compared to my previous ones in speed and signal strength. My previous combination with modem and o router was 250 mps. The new Netgear is 400 mps. Signal strength is excellent even with antennas folded down. Setup is easy with ap. Was also able use my previous net name and password using the Netgear ap.

I had been having a lot of problems with HULU buffering and a lot of times, the show I was watching just went off air and HULU closed down. I had been thinking I should just settle for a satellite system, but I wanted to try a new router. I really did not know what to expect. I set set the router up , got it regestered and what thought the same thing would happen to HULU. Man was I empressed! The amount of mb I got from the router almost doubled and away went 98% of buffering and have not had HULU shut down. This is the best router I’ve used and pretty easy to set up. If you get this model, I’m sure you’ll like its performance.

It was a little larger than I anticipated. I guess I should’ve paid more attention to the dimensions that were given in the product specs. Other than that works as advertised maybe even better !, it took my streaming speed up 20 times from 100 Mbps to over 1000 constant megabits per second !!
I’ve been able to get direct speed from my modem at 2.4 GIGs a second which is outstanding my company offers 3 gigs meaning we almost get the full three gigs there’s no way we could’ve done that with our old router and modem combination. I went ahead and paired this with the nighthawk CM 2000 cable modem as it was one of only two that were approved by my cable company here in Alaska oh that’s right I live in Alaska so that Internet speed is even that much more important when gaming online!!, oh and my online gaming friends have said my speed has picked up tremendously and then I’m harder to hit now and I’ve noticed when I’m playing them, I can actually kill them when I shoot them instead of them being already in front of my aim where I have to actually lead them because of my poor Internet pinging 😔 , speaking of ping it went from 18 average to 8 average, which is huge when you’re playing online, especially with people all over the world ! In closing I would recommend this router to anybody and the best part was, I got it fully renewed and refurbished for only $150 and it looks brand new when it showed up works brand new and back by 30 day Amazon warranty so I could not be happier thank you Netgear for the Nighthawk series.❤️❤️❤️

This router is much larger than it appears online. It takes up a ton of space and if you don’t love the design of it then I’d look elsewhere. I’ve been testing many routers and this one did about the same as the others but took up twice as much space. I have 1GB speed and over wifi I get consistent upload/download speeds in parallel. Sometimes the upload is faster than the download (often). At distance, however, the speed suffers even in a small apartment. I tested other routers that were much better at distance than this one. The 6E band is a nice to have, but most devices don’t use it yet nor does the band even show as available. Check to see if your devices have 6Ghz compatibility first before getting a 6E router as you might be overbuying.

This router was to replace my 8+ year old linkys router that I have been using for years.
Pro #1, a third band to spread out the congestion across your network. I know many devices still don’t support 6ghz WiFi, but this is really a way to future proof yourself. Also if you are in an apartment, chances are most of your neighbors don’t have a 6ghz band, which means it will be unused for you.
Pro #2 ax WiFi protocol (for me) seems to have a noticeable improvement Speedtest wise and stream quality wise over ac and other previous WiFi protocols. For example, on my old ac protocol router (wifi 5), I would get around 200×200 mbps speed tests in my living room on 5g wifi. On this router, I have seen 600/600+ mbps speed tests in the same room.
Pro #3 the mobile application and the web based UI. As a network technician, I have used many commercial and residential user interfaces. This one checks all of the boxes that I really need as a residential user.
