 The AMD Ryzen 5 8500G is a solid choice for budget-minded gamers or those looking for a capable processor for everyday tasks. It features 6 cores, 12 threads, and integrated Radeon 740M graphics, allowing you to play some less demanding games without a dedicated graphics card. It also boasts a strong performance-to-price ratio.
Here’s a quick summary of the pros and cons to help you decide if the Ryzen 5 8500G is the right processor for you:
Pros:
* Excellent value for price
* Integrated graphics handle some light gaming
* Supports DDR5 memory
Cons:
* Fewer PCIe lanes compared to higher-end models
* Might not be ideal for futureproofing due to fewer PCIe lanes

Armando un pc accesible y le monte el 8500g q junto a los otros componentes, ram 32 GB, fuente 600 w, board 650m, y nvme 1Tb, quedó trabajando súper bien

Has never broken 56c and at idle runs at 28c. Very power efficient and the integrated graphics can run almost all games at 50-60 fps, 1080p low settings.

Was bought to test out if it is good enough to replace a Ryzen 7 5700G setup.
Pro 1: Worth cost of entry to AM5. It essentially matches the Ryzen 7 5700G in performance with less and weaker cores (more on that in the cons).
Pro 2: Extremely easy to cool.
Pro 3: Decent beginner gaming. It can play AAA games at 1080p w/ low settings ~30 FPS. It can play Indie games at 1080p with mid to high settings depending on the game.
Con 1: Not a true Zen 4 CPU because 4 out of 6 cores is smaller and the MHz is cut down. AMD calls them Zen 4c cores.
Con 2: Annoying IHS that traps TIM.
Pro Tip: The Zen 4c cores are actual desktop CPU cores and not laptop cores like Intel’s E-Cores.

It’s a good product, but if you can afford buying the 8600g go for it, especially if you’re more interested in using it as an APU. However this is a great processor, I’ve tested some games, some other type of processes and the performance is very good. I’m so happy with this one, I’m not thinking to play games in 4k or Ray tracing, but with a good graphic card it’d would be perfectly possible

I totally upgraded my system and this was the CPU I went with and I couldn’t be happier.
I went from Ryzen 3600 and this 8500G just blows it away.
If looking for decent priced AM5 upgrade from previous AM4 then I would recommend this because its really good chip very fast plus if you are on budget it has decent integrated graphics so don’t need a GPU straight away.
