when I thought seriously about buying this machine I was frustrated over rebuilding a kitchen aid that failed after I tried to make a bread recipe. I looked at it over and over for about 6 weeks, that is a ton of cash for a mixer. I talked to my wife and a few others and they all thought I was nuts, but my wife said, she’d pay half if I really wanted to try it. OMG, I thought now I am kinda committed. I am glad I was because a few months and recipes of bread semi monthly has this bread maker as happy as can be. The retired kitchen aid can go the daughter until she wants to seriously wants to make some decent bread 🙂
OH, ya.. and by the way, you can of course make other things with this amazing mixer.. but I just love making good bread 🙂

En resumen, si además de batir y mezclar quieren hacer pan entonces esta es la mejor opción. Ni siquiera la kitchenaid commercial tiene la resitencia para amasar masas pesadas y que aparte no sean tan blandas por tanto tiempo. La misma marca te dice que no amases por más de 6 minutos. Los que tienen experiencia en pan sabrán a qué me refiero. Sencillamente la mejor batidora “semi industrial” para uso en hogar o incluso pequeños negocios.

The mixer requires some experimentation and practice unlike a conventional stand mixer that only works one way. This is not a criticism because it is the versatility and adjustability of the Ankarsrum which is its strongest point. One learns to make adjustments for the type of dough, adjustments which cannot be made with other stand mixers. The roller and scraper mechanism actually kneads the bread gently without tearing it which a dough hook always does, necessitated by the very design of dough hooks. The scraper eliminates having to stop mixer, lift the motor and scrape down the sides.
One must be careful using the balloon whisks. The whipping action is so efficient that one can easily go to far in this process. For example, whipped cream can easily become butter in a very short time. Another example is making butter. The first time I used for making butter, I whipped the butter past the butter stage and reincorporated the buttermilk into the butter. (I don’t know what that product is called). The open bowl (though you can cover it completely with the cover) is an advantage because one has a constant view of bowl contents and can adjust speed and times easily.
The timer allows one to set kneading for a given time and simply step away from the mixer which will turn off after the elapsed time you set. Most other mixers don’t do this.
This mixer is expensive but definitely enhances the pleasure of making various doughs. I have not bought the other versatile attachments for grinding grains, meats etc. nor the blender since I already have those items in other forms. I believe that these attachments are priced too high by Ankarsrum and I would likely always choose other items over these attachments. If the prices reduce, I would consider.

This machine is a workhorse, and makes the best dough. Admittedly there is a bit of a learning curve to it, but after getting more familiar with how it works am hooked on it. Recommend highly!

Takes care of mixing and kneading. Paddle and roller design is way better than dough hooks resulting in softer and lighter dough while using less flour. Although it has a small learning curve, the plethora of YouTube videos on using it will get you started like a pro. I did a lot of research before choosing a machine and this is hands down the best one money can buy for home use. Well worth the investment especially if you plan on making bread regularly. I mill my own flour and honestly don’t think I would without this machine. Never buying store bought bread or flour again! Thanks Ankarsrum for such an awesome product.

Update: After using this to bake bread 3-4 times I love it even more! This machine is leagues ahead of KitchenAid! It does all the work like scraping the bowl and gently kneading the dough. All I have to do is form the dough and let it rise. I am so glad I did my research instead of buying another KitchenAid.
If nothing else, it comes with a 7 year warranty, which gives me confidence in the brand. As best I can tell, it is made in Sweden. Another win. The open bowl, motor on the bottom design, another win. Being able to see my dough/batter and being able to add ingredients without the need to stop the machine is a gift from the heavens. Being able to move the roller so that it grabs the batter white the machine is on. I love it. What about the bowl turning and a scraper, not in my hand, scarping the bowl and doing a fantastic job.
I had a KitchenAid for years and almost bought another but there were a few things that I did not love about it so I decided to look around for something better. Literally, that’s what I Googled. Bosch makes an open bowl design but it is a very lightweight mixer and I didn’t want to deal with it dancing on the counter. Then, I stumbled upon this one and was intrigued. I debated spending the money but after watching some videos, I just had to go for it.
I am 52 years old and waiting for this mixer to arrive turned me into a 10 year old waiting for Christmas. Yep, I was that excited and more that it’s here, I’m still excited!
This machine is worth every penny and improves on what we have accepted as the top of the line stand mixer in ALL the right ways. This mixer is a well thought out, well designed machine that does everything a stand mixer should do very quickly, quietly, and effectively.
Oh and it’s powerful even on the lowest speed. 600 watts is plenty for the way this machine has been designed. I do not anticipate ever buying another stand mixer!

Love the motor on the bottom of the stand….zero hopping with larger recipes. Love the power of the motor, nice looking machine. Easy to operate. Love the double mixing bowls, and the quality of the stand mixer is excellent. Variety of beaters and loved the recipe book that is included. More expensive than my Kitchen Aid stand mixer but the Ankarsrum mixer is top quality and it doesn’t have the problems I had with the kitchen Aid. I am loving baking again!!!!!!
