I was looking to cut down on volume during drum practice. These cymbals are pretty cool. The ride has a nice sound. The crashes serve the purpose and the hihats sound better if you put a cloth over the bottom hihat cymbal. They can be a little harsh sounding and a soft cloth cuts down the loud high pitched ching sound as you open and close the hihat. I’m pretty happy with them.

The crashes and ride actually sound pretty good and don’t hurt my ears to play. The hats sound… fine if they are a bit open. Unfortunately, they sound like hitting a cookie sheet when they’re closed. Other than the hats, very impressed.

We got this pack of cymbals to be used for a Rock and Metal band-themed summer camp for kids 6th-10th grade with the expectation that few of them would be responsible enough to actually wear earplugs. In order to test them beforehand, I brought them to my own band practice and let our heavy-handed drummer try them out to see if they were going to be durable enough. Not only are they able to take a beating from a real drummer, but we have actually come to prefer using mute cymbals for our own band practice! The tones are surprisingly bright for how thin they are, the anodization has held up well to stick strikes so far (~2 months of playing), and they sound fairly convincing as full cymbals on recording. Additionally, being quieter has helped prevent bleed-over to the other drum mics.
I was so impressed by these inexpensive cymbals that I went and bought two more sets – one branded as Aisen (~$200) and another as Resanito ($~60). The Aisen have a heavier stamping and thicker coating so sound much darker, while the Resanito are bare steel and have a very dry crisp character; making these Arborea cymbals our favorites of this range.
5/5 would purchase again!

Guided here via the drums subreddit who all agree to “just buy the cheap ones; they’re all the same.” So I did. My band has been trying to reduce overall volume during practices and rehearsals, so I gave these a shot to try and do my part. They were a complete success. The hi-hats sound a bit trashy, which is why I took off a star. Ride and crashes sound like perfectly acceptable, if cheap, traditional cymbals, and they feel just about the same. Really great for this scenario, and possibly even for small-room gigs. I did not mute my drums at all, and the balance was still pretty decent.

I felt like these were a gamble when I ordered them for my electric kit, but they sound decent and are at a good level for the volume I play through my amp. So much better than the hard rubber ones that the e-kit comes with. I wanted the feedback from real cymbals but not the volume. These solve that. The only complaint I have is the bell on the ride doesn’t sound different enough from the rest of the cymbal. In my opinion that is a small sacrifice at this price point. $65 for hats, 2 crashes and a ride is unheard of. I would definitely recommend these for anyone’s practice kit. Hell, I’d probably play live with them if I was still doing that.

So I bought the Black Mosico Set as they came with a splash, hats, 2 crashes & a ride for a whopping 90 bucks.
I already owned the 4 piece Resanito Brand Brass version and liked them so I figured I’d bite the bullet and try the coated series. The Mosico are definitely are quieter than the non coated Resanito series but they dont have the “best” tone. They feel a bit dulled due to the black compared to the Resanito brand.
If you are seeking a low volume alternative to regular cymbals while still feeling like regular cymbals, this is it. They do FANTASTIC for both feel and volume but, be leery of the coated colors!
