Bought these for my 5-yeard old daughter as her first drum kit. I am a drummer so it was pretty easy to assemble for me, but it may not be for someone who is not already a drummer but there is an instruction manual. For what it is, it sounds pretty good. Just need to give all the drum heads a little TLC with the provided drum key (or any drum key if you already have access to one) if you are looking for a type of sound. The snare drum doesn’t actually have snare wire to swap between so it does not have that “snap” the average person may associate with a snare drum. For other drummers, the snare always sounds like you have your snare wires disengaged so it has that Timbale drum kind’ve sound. I swapped out her kick drum head with an Evans drum head and it has a great sound to it even with the stock kick pedal. I am not sure how the stock Kick drum head sounds but I wanted a more durable head for her on the kick drum.

She loves the kit and just goes to town on the drums, hi-hat and crash cymbal; Other than some drum head divots from her sticks here and there, the kit has held up well. My 5-year old does not really have an interest in formally learning how to play yet and is content in just playing as crazy as possible. It’s cool with me, It all builds coordination, kit familiarity, muscles, and muscle memory and she is receiving about an 11-year head start on her daddy and when I started to play. If you are looking for a first time kit, this is really not a bad option!

This is a nice drum set for kids. The size is comfortable. It took almost 3 hours to build as someone who has never built a drum set in their life. I think this is a perfect drum set for someone who is beginning to learn how to play and want to get started, or wants something small for space reasons. Itโ€™s very sturdy and plays pretty nice. I like it and personally think itโ€™s worth the price. The chair though is very small as it is for a toddler so I would suggest getting a more comfortable chair.

The size of the drum kit is perfect for my 2 year old granddaughter. It will grow with her. The sound
quality is very good. She is delighted to have her own set to do duets with her daddy. I am so
happy that I bought it for her!

My 10 year old son played his drums for maybe two weeks and the bass drum fell to the side. I am not very picky so I thought I could go to my local guitar center and replace the part. NO… I then emailed both Ashthorpe and the email they recommended for assistance and have yet to receive a response. I just wanted a replacement piece, however now I believe I am going to just try to get a refund. ” You only get what you pay for!!! ” Wish me luck…

much fun for the kids. Study and fairly easy to assemble. However manual would use some layman’s language especially for the non drummers. may be labelling the parts in addition to the already existing technical terms would be just fine
