to everyone hoping if does support PCIe x4 to PCIe x16 nvme adapters , it does
just as a test to see if the nvme adapter card would actually boot , it does , but windows 10 requires a repair first
windows 10 booted to main screen in 4 seconds , now mind you i am using G.skill DDR3 2400mhz ram
i used this adapter card

Lots of extra ports and expansion slots as opposed to the original ASUS motherboard.
This board is a quantum leap in quality and functionality as opposed to the original board.

Nice little microATX 970 chipset motherboard. I had this for a little over 2 weeks now and it has been running amazing. I only had one problem with the App Store application on the cd that came with the motherboard. It would give me an error that would pop up every time I logged onto my computer desktop it would say something like its not compatible with my motherboard so if you get that error uninstall the App Store application and it will go away. I have this paired with Athlon II x3 3.4ghz, 4gb ddr3 G-Skill ram 2133mhz, Crucial MX100 SSD, Sapphire R9 270x, 600w corsair PSU all inside of a Silverstone Sugo case. I can play Bo3 on high settings with 30-40 fps, I know I can get more fps if I add 8gb of ram just waiting for it to come in the mail. Black Ops 3 is the only game that I have tested so far. I will also update when I install my new cpu sometime later this week. Overall this motherboard feels pretty solid it looks better in person too. With 8gb of ddr3 ram I was getting an extra 10-15fps.
Update: Okay I now have this with 8gb of ddr3 G-Skill ram at 2133mhz and I have a FX-4350 overclocked to 4.5ghz running stable for a week now. I ran Prime95 24 hours with no problems at all, to keep it cool I have a cooler master Hyper 212 evo. It does not get hot at all. I would say that my case plays a good part in keeping in cool. I have a 240mm fan on top of my case blowing down on the VRMs and the heat sink which helps it keep it cool. My cpu on load gets 40c and core temps get 49c. I can run Black Ops 3 on high settings with 80-120 fps, I wish it would only let me change my settings on extra(ultra) but the settings only let me go to high. Overall I enjoy this motherboard and I would buy it again.

Cant run W11 on it but, Linux Mint flys with a used $19 – AMD FX-6300-6 Core CPU along with some new Kingston HyperX Fury DDR3 1866 Memory 16GB Ram Kit found on that bay. Dont think I’m really missing much not running W11

This board worked great! Had an older computer that would not switch on with out unplugging for at least 30 minutes and fiddling around with the power button. Replaced power source with no change. Figured I’d give a new motherboard as the next possible solution. Already had lots of ddr3 ram and a cheapo video card so I wanted a board that supported that. First time replacing a motherboard and it was super easy. Only issue I had was the power switch connections where different. No problem. Just wired up a simple switch to turn it on. Fired it up and it booted up right away! I did not need to reinstall windows. Took about 2 hours to install and boot up then update a bunch of drivers and I was good to go! Only thing I didn’t care for was all the software I didn’t need that it try’s to load when inserting the disc that comes with it. I guess that helps them keep the costs down so not a big deal. Great product at this price point.

I received this board today (3/14/2024). I was as dead as road kill. I’ve been custom-building computers for over 30 years, and have have seen my share of DOA mobos. Before I declared the board deceased, I ran it through the usual tests: 1. Checked for faulty RAM. 2. Disconnected hard drive. 3. Checked the board’s capacitors for defects. 4. Tried different CPUs. 4. Cleared CMOS. 5. Power supply was more than sufficient for this board, but tried another PS (just in case). Final verdict? Dead motherboard. I decided that maybe this board was just a fluke lemon, so I packed it back, used Amazon’s UPS label & gave it to UPS for a return. I ordered the same board. It will arrive tomorrow. I will post another review after I check out the replacement board. Hopefully, all will go as expected. ***EDIT UPDATE*** So, I received the replaced motherboard yesterday. I installed, and all is well (so far). It’s now running Windows 11 Pro without a hitch. The previous board’s problems was just a fluke. That’s it. ***UPDATE… This board is one of the worst I’ve ever had. After working for about a week or so, when I attempted to boot it up one morning, it would NOT. I’m not going to even return it this time. I’m writing this ASRock 970M Pro 3 as a loss. Into the trash heap it goes. What a waste of time & money!

I damaged my motherboard , but I wasn’t ready to dump the money needed to bring me up
to date with current CPU/GPU gen. technology. This ASRock motherboard for AM3+ socket
CPUs and DDR3 memory capabilities was a solid alternative option at an affordable price

Cost less than used boards. Easy to install. Replaced ASROCK 960GM/U3S3 FX. Installed it but Windows 10 did not like new 970 board since it since it was based on the 960 chip set of the old 960 board. However, was easily corrected with Windows 10 reinstall utility. New 970 board, same CPU, same SSD & HD, 32GB ram, same graphic card. Everything works perfectly.
