ASUS ROG Strix Go BT Gaming Headset

I have had maybe 10 different sets of blue tooth headphones in the last 2 years, so I can only speak to that wide range of random devices. These were the best, I had them for about 6 months, loved everything about them, all of the features, the battery life was ok, but I use them all day and they would last.

One fateful evening I was putting my son on my shoulders they go knocked off my head, landed on the power button, and completely broke the button, destroying the headphones…

6 months later I have had 2 more sets of headphones, the PXC 550-II and some JBL (garbage) and have decided to pick these up at a discount compared to what I originally bought them for.

For me, these were the best.

This review would be a 4 Star review, if it were not for 1 very overlooked aspect of this product. THERE ARE ABSOLUTELY NO FACTORY OR AFTER MARKET EAR CUSHIONS FOR SALE! Meaning if the ear cushion is ever damaged, worn, or shredded by your pet, you have no way of simply purchasing a new ear cup pad for your $200+ MSRP headset, unacceptable!

As for the rest of the features, the contols are simple and easy to use on the move, the headset is very comfortable and adjustable, though my ears do still touch the audio drivers in the ear cups. Noise canceling works very well in loud environments for both your audio and your mic. Audio quality for gaming and music are prety poor out of the box, but you can use Asus’s free app Armory Crate to adjust many audio aspects to your likeing and aplication. That being said the audio still is not what I would expect from a $200+ msrp headset. The storage case is very functional and the ear cups fold nicely around your neck and for storage in the case. The most impressive and most valuable aspect of this headset is the battery life! Driving truck I would be taking calls and listening to music, youtube, and podcasts for 10 hours a day and still have battery left over to play online games with friends at home. I have had it last 3 days before without needing to be recharged, also it can be used while charging so you will never be left without the use of it. All in all, I think asus made a decent attempt to make a good do all headset, and I would definately rate this 4 out of 5 stars if it were not for the simple fact that I can not fix my $200+ headset by simply buying new earcups from asus… Asus, please address this. Thank you.

Estáticamente se ven bien, material de buena calidad, estuché bonito, lo malo es que cuando quieres usar la cancelación de ruido hay 3 opciones, apagado, medio y alto. En esta última hace un zumbido que molesta el oído de ahí en fuera todo bien, pero para ser un producto de esta calidad deja mucho que desear

Good gaming headset. The cushions are soft but not super bulky. Using Windows Sonic for Headphones I do hear a nice 5.1 surround sound though the sound quality seems mid-range and lacks bass. Mics are decent in a quiet area but become muffled due to mic noise-cancelling in loud areas. The noise-cancelling for the output itself is horrible when on high setting but tolerable in low setting, though I find the ear cups do a good job of blocking a lot of ambient noise already.

I went out on a limb and tried these for connecting to a PC (11th Gen Razer laptop). While the noise cancelling for ambient noise was ok on low mode, the high mode made everything sound like holding a cup to your ear. With ambient noise in the background, the mic would pick up a lot of it. I’m not sure what the AI Mic noise rejection does, but this would not be usable in a noisy office or anywhere else. Compared to some old Sennheiser PXC550 headphones, the mic on the old headphones was way better than these.

These do NOT allow you to stay in stereo mode on a PC when connected via bluetooth (has to be in handsfree mode). I think the only way to do this is to find a pair that supports something other than bluetooth. PCs have terrible Bluetooth audio when using the mic at the same time.

Returned.

I bought this when it was discounted plenty, it was nearly half the current listed price ($250 or so).
Even with that price, and a big companies headphone, it was not up to even the standard set by headphones which fall in the $70 range. I USED THIS IN PUBLIC AS A REGULAR BLUETOOTH HEADPHONE NOT EVEN FOR GAMING.

Specifics: it has a absolute noise canceling mode, which still leave a large bit of audio entering.

The worst thing about that mode isn’t the external sound, it’s the fact that if you move your head or chew food or touch the headphone (if you do anything which counts as movement basically) it will make this annoying sound which sounds like fans are shaking while turned on in your ear.
It is INTOLERABLE.

It’s audio was good but for that price you can find better.
