The ASUS ROG Strix X670E-E Gaming motherboard is a powerhouse designed to complement the might of AMD’s Ryzen 7000 series CPUs. I paired mine with the Ryzen 9 7950 X3D CPU, and the results were nothing short of spectacular.

Firstly, let’s talk about ease of setup. Flashing the BIOS was a breeze, thanks to ASUS’s user-friendly interface. Even for those unfamiliar with the process, ASUS provides clear instructions, ensuring a smooth experience. This is crucial, especially when new Ryzen CPUs launch, as seamless BIOS updates are essential for optimal performance.

The motherboard’s Socket AM5(LGA 1718) compatibility ensures future-proofing, making it a wise investment for enthusiasts looking to upgrade down the line. Upgrading the CPU based on AM5 is as simple as swapping out the old for the new, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity.

Performance-wise, the ROG Strix X670E-E Gaming motherboard shines. With robust power delivery and efficient thermal management, it effortlessly handles the demands of high-end gaming and content creation. Features like PCIe 5.0 support and advanced connectivity options further elevate the gaming experience, providing the bandwidth needed for next-gen GPUs and peripherals.

The aesthetic design is quintessentially ASUS ROG—sleek, stylish, and attention-grabbing. RGB lighting accents add a touch of flair, customizable to suit any build theme. Additionally, ASUS’s Aura Sync technology ensures seamless synchronization with other compatible components, creating a visually stunning gaming rig.

    Rtx 4090
Just update the BIOS to the latest version

Very buggy, the board itself is stating that there is a memory error, however the system information and BIOS, seem to say everything is ok. A lot of features on this board, but probably better off going for the MSI equivalent.

I read a ton of reviews, and watched a ton of review videos and i have to admit i was blown away by just how bad asus pooped the bed here with their ROG am5 line. I knew a few years ago they weren’t exactly known for their quality products but i ended up putting together a brand new am5 build and i figured since they had a amd/mobo combo i would go with this board out of convience. I instantly would come to regret it after powering up the build for the first time, and here’s why it’s been a nightmare from hell with this board as the amount of issues with it are monumental…

    The parts i used were…
    AMD Ryzen 9 7900x cpu
    Asus ROG strix x670e-e mobo
    Thermaltake TH240 cpu cooler
    Corsair Vengence DDR5 5400 ram
Gigabyte Aorus geforce rtx 4090 master gpu
    W10 64bit home OS

The first issue i had was out of the box the lack of gpu support created an issue where it didn’t like my acer predator 43″ 4k monitor which resulted in absolutely nothing at all displaying on the monitor. No bios, no os installation prompt, nothing just a blank screen.

The second issue i had was their onboard raid controllers having serious issues causing no boot scenarios and would lock up the boot process on an F3 board code. The only way to fix it was to use legacy support in csm mode and reinstall windows, also i could only have one hard drive active as trying to enable and format others for use in windows would trigger the on-board raid mode hang up.

Issue 3 was the lack of actual knowledable and intellegent customer support staff. After having had troubleshooted everything for over a week to no avail ranging from band-aid and duct tape “fixes” to attempting to update their sucky bios updates i called asus tech support. They told me ALL of my issues including the non-functional intel ethernet port were due to the corsair vengance ram not being compatable with the board even though it was on the list on their site of supported ram chips, so i bought 2 packs of 32 x 2 g.skill trident z ddr5 6400 ram as it was the exact match down to the last little detail cross referenced from asus’s boards memory compatibility list. Suffice to say issues still persisted.

Issue 5 which was the straw that broke the camels back after all the issues with the board to this point was their use of the sh-intel I225-V 2.5G ethernet port. Which the motherboard and windows doesn’t recognize the ethernet connection and the drivers are non existent and a massive train wreck for windows 10. Why board manufacturers are going 2.5g intel chips is beyond me since intel ethernet has always sucked and 10g ethernet is the big current thing especially for gaming.

Long story short asus really dropped the ball and pooped the bed on quality assurance with their current am5 boards.

I hope that this review can help others avoid the same situation i was in after buying this board as this was legitimately the first time i’ve had this many issues with a motherboard alone since windows 95 was a thing.

I’m very satisfied with the overall performance. It has lots of bells and whistles. I really like that it has many USB ports on the back panel. A little expensive but I’ve never been let down by an ASUS motherboard. Very satisfied.

I bought this mother board from Amazon to complete my PC build. Works as expected for 2 weeks now, no issues. First this I did was BIOS update, it allows you to do it via USB flash drive, without boot. Then I started PC, it reboot itself couple of times and was ready to install OS. First boot took some time. EXPO works without any issues so far on the highest supported frequency.
    I am using G.Skill Trident Z5 RGB 96GB (2 x 48GB) DDR5-6400 PC5-51200 CL32 Dual Channel Desktop Memory Kit (F5-6400J3239F48GX2-TZ5RK) for 2 primary slots.
Motherboard has plenty of connectors, I was able to attach everything without any issues. I can recommend checking extra GPU brackets if you have any, as it appears you need to install them before you install motherboard. Luckily my case had an alternative way to support enormous GPU, so I did not need the stock GPU one.
