I was really buying this because of it programming capabilities and great UI but it really is a fantastic overall scan tool. It allows for all the things you would get In a very high end scan tool such as calibrations, actuations, programming and many more. I specify used this for BMWs and it basically worked like a charm, had exactly what I required no ISTA(BMW dealership software )needed.

Iโve been using this device for about a year now. This scanner in specific is my favorite so far, allowing me to do anything and everything Iโve needed with a massive selection of different car companies. Iโve used this scanner for cars that typically need a special scan tool, but with constant updates and new features being added all the time, this scanner was able to handle everything on its own. This scan tool is fast, affordable, easy to use, reliable, and overall a great choice for anyone working on cars.

I bought this because I was just tired of using my rinkydink code reader. It just wasn’t giving me enough information to make correct diagnoses on these newer cars. Although I’m not an expert on using this more advanced code reader. I wish it would be easier to use by having quick start menus that skips all the shenanigans when trying to connect to the cars ECU and getting the codes or it be able to tell you if you are smog ready. Doesn’t have that or at least I couldn’t find it. I guess it takes time to get used to it but basically, it’s menu after menu after manu after manu after manu after manu after manu after manu to get to the codes. I’m being sarcastic. You’ll know what I mean when you buy it. However it does have everything that I need. Real life data of all the components that are critical for proper engine performance. This one in particular had something bonus that I didn’t know I had. It’s able to also communicate with your AC system and program remotes or key fobs. What a plus, wasn’t expecting that, but basically it’s saved me a lot of money programming my own key fobs. Practically paid for itself with that feature alone. Long story short… I was able to diagnose my vehicle and got it back on the road with this code reader. Well worth the money I paid for this diagnosed tool.

MK808s has saved me thousands within my first use. bought San-Tool this yr 2023 no more getting ripped off by the dealership for things I can do myself. Even if you’re not a DIY person you well at least be able to tell the dealership not only the codes but how to do the job, the dealerships take advantage of anyone who goes in for service with the check engine light on saying, I have no idea whats wrong, I bought this scanner after a good friend told me to stop trusting your service advisor at the dealership. He only tells you customers states, then he rips you off so he can make his commission . well those days are long over for me I’ve never worked on any type of emissions sys, well this scan- tool not only gave me the codes but allowed me to search right on the scanner helping to find the OEM parts I needed, that can be found right here on amazon and very easy to install for the most part. So easy yet the dealerships charges insane prices for the same thing one can do themselves . The dealerships never will tell you and surely would never show you just how easy some of these fixes are. you’ll feel so good kwoing you not only found the fault but you were able to clean area before placing the new part in place, something the dealership would never do.. No more guessing what’s wrong with any of my 5 vehicels ever again, once any dealership knows you’re the type that keeps up with all the your required repairs and or maintenance they’ll always seem to find problems even if it’s only a routine oil change.. Note not all service advisor are dishonest people, a very well known dealerships service advisor in my town was the one who told me to get a very nice scanner and put a stop on being ripped off. So after months of doing my research I selected (Autel Scanner MaxiCOM MK808S) this scanner here is way more then i’ll ever need, however what I love about this scanner is it’s for the basic mechanic on to the very experience mechanic like myself, now I can do minor repairs or the more complex repairs, either way that’ll be my choice and not the dealership anymore. Yes you only get one year of free updates for me it still wasn’t any brainer this scanner is way better than matco and snap-on by far!!! My only Con is towards myself, when I asked myself what took me so damn long to stop being ripped off and getting a scanner that does so much that it pays for whatever spent just on the first. All I had to do was calculate the cost of parts over the cost of labor and this scan-tool gave me not just my money back but I also dont have the worry about the check engine light coming on, Plus my vehicle passed the state inspection that’s still required here in Texas with no faults found. This scanner is great for DIYers. There are a lot of tests you can run and it will scan every module in your vehicle. It gives you a lot of information. Even works on diesel vehicles. You’re able to program new key fobs and keys for most models. You can pull check engine codes and as long as you’re connected to the internet you can google or YouTube the code and see or read the fix for the issue on the scanner. Some early 2000 vehicles are not compatible.
