Bought this to replace a CamLink 4K that seems to constantly have issues and this thing has been rock solid. Picture quality is great, plugging it in works every time, always shows up in my apps. The camlink also has issues with Thunderbolt 4 docks and M2 Macbook pros, and this does not have that issue.

The part I like the most is that the box isn’t a USB dongle that hangs off the computer or USB hub. This is a nice little box you can mount under your desk and run your wires to. USB c is a huge benefit too.

Met my expectations on my old DSLR Nikon D3300 i’ve had since 2016, video quality is amazing, works with OBS , even the lastest software version. Easy to add source in OBS as Video capture and selecting Live Streamer CAP 4k. no issues. Recommend : purchasing a Power adaptor to avoid using and recharging your Camera batteries.

Died about a month in to owning it. Refuses to show up on any PC. Straight up lost 100 bucks on this and will need to go buy something else.

    Will never buy AverMedia again

He estado probado durante algunas horas.

I originally got this card because I thought that the Elgato HD60 S wasn’t going to work with my PC.

What this card did in how it was just the simplest plug-and-play job ever was show me what my real problem was.

I was using the USB ports on my case, and testing the AverMedia out through them with some sample recordings. I noticed a horrible amount of video/audio desynchronization and a really slow response on the capture rate through the USB 2.0 port, and a slight audio lag with near-perfect response on the USB 3.0 port.

Then I plugged this little wonder that could where Elgato couldn’t into one of the 3.0 ports on my motherboard. Everything was perfect.

That lead me to my other test the next day.

Things to know about this card:
–If you read the manual, there is a light type that it will blink when it says it’s updating its firmware. I highly recommend plugging this card in on Windows (with internet) for its first-time setup. Despite being a UVC card and thus usable on Linux, that’s not something I was willing to test.
–Yes, this card has no HDMI output passthrough, but if you’d rather not look at a TV screen while recording, do you need it? I mean, the video comes up in the capture software of your choice once you have your card set up, so really, the only way to know you got it right is when everything is working. And that’s the way things should be.
–This device also comes with its own capture software on their website, and if you like to have an indication of how much approximate recording time you have to play with, why not try it?

This is an incredible piece of technology. I was encouraged by the listing saying that it was truly plug-and-play, with no need for driver software, but was also skeptical. HDMI is notoriously touchy and I have had other, similar devices that were either a hassle to get them working properly, or they didn’t work in a reliable way. When I unboxed the thing, I saw that the tiny, tiny user’s manual had no instructions other than showing you how to plug in the cables, something that was totally obvious anyway. Based on past experience with other devices, I was sure I would soon be logging on to their site to read the “real” manual, or hunting on Google for answers to the problem I was sure were coming. But guess what – I plugged it in and boom, worked like a charm. And the picture it delivers from the HDMI source is flawless. Great product!

Tive experiรชncia com a AverMedia no passado e fiquei traumatizado. Alรฉm disso, a marca nรฃo tem tanto alcance aqui quanto a Elgato.

I picked this unit up so that I could view some of my systems without a monitor. I simply plug the HDMI from the system (raspberry pi works great) into the correct port and plug it into my PC and instant video access without requiring a monitor.

This allows me to view the boot and keyboard and/or mouse with a system without needing an additional monitor. It also allows me to record the screen as needed.

If you want to do a headless setup for system administering and occasionally need to plug in a monitor this works great.

The included document was a bit sparse on everything other than plugging it in. I had to first plug in the device so Windows would recognize it, then start over with my live hdmi. Windows by itself would not recognize the device as a webcam, though it did recognize it for audio input. I had to go to the website and download a program they list as only being for desktops. They officially don’t support laptops. I installed their software on my laptop and it worked just fine. I can now use my digital camera like a webcam which is what I wanted. I haven’t tested any other software functionality. For what I want, the product is perfect. Note that with use the aluminum housing can get warm. I intend to use it on a laptop with 8 cores/ 16 threads, but I Also installed the software and found it to work (as a webcam) on a slow laptop with only 2 cores with no issues which was way below their stated minimum specs.
