I didn’t really want to pay this much for a small gig bag/carrying case but just got a Matribox II yesterday and really liked it so decided to keep it for a backup rig. Seeing I will be taking it gigging even though might not even use, I want to keep it well protected. This case fit the bill with flying colors. Nice snug fit with lots of cushioning on the inside and super hard protection on the outside. Just what I was hoping for :))

First & foremost, this thing is VERY well built. It is very sturdy hard plastic, steel pins are used in the hinges, the latches, and the handle. There are reviews that state the knob on front of case is a vent, which I suppose it is, but there is no opening and closing it, it is installed for no vent, or completely removed for a vent. Interior dimensions are 13″ X 9&3/4″ X 2&3/4″. There is a a base foam approx 3/4″, and a piece of pull & pluck approx 2″, and a contoured piece of foam in lid. Plus it has two very sturdy set of holes to lock with padlock. Handle is very heavy & sturdy. Gave an average review for water resistance since I have no need nor desire to submerge this case, but it does have a gasket recessed in groove in lid, that appears to be very well made and very soft, I confident it would do well, if case were dropped in water, doubt that it would do good being continuously submerged. I have a much larger case that is very durable and well built, this one could hang with it it NO problem. When the need arises for another case i WILL NOT hesitate to purchase another AxiGear waterproof hard case. VERY WELL BUILT

I have been trying to find something to package some fairly delicate figurines into. You can find toy boxes that might serve better, in theory. However, they are rarely as sturdy. The foam inside is pre-cut, but not torn. This way you can tear it apart without special tools as you please. They aren’t heavy either. That’s a huge bonus. Really nothing, but positive things to say.

I bought this for my Ham Radio, specifically my Yaesu FT 891. The pick and pluck was super easy to use and the case is large enough to fit both the radio, power cable, and microphone without being too large on the outside. I could probably find some space for a couple other small accessories but this is basically just the right size to hold the radio.
The case itself feels super sturdy and makes it a lot more comfortable to carry the radio. The handle feels substantial and the case is well built. I’d buy this again.

I really like this case. Its thick enough to be quality. The ONLY thing I dont like is the foam is cut only straight. So if you have an item that you dont want on the bottom of the case you will need to take the plug of foam out, then cut the height down and reinsert the foam plug.

I measured my radio twice to be sure, saw another guy measure the inside and figured I had extra room. I did not, my radio fit perfectly with zero room to spare. so im AMAZINGLY happy but if you have something that you think “this will fill that up” then id get a larger size. If I put this on a boat I would put it in a dry sack or zip lock the contents. this is protective not waterproof as the lid can flex enough to let in water. Id trust it in the rain for sure.

I liked that this wasn’t as deep as other “pelican” style cases. It works well for my 15″ field monitor with a vesa adapter mounted as well as room for the feet removed and cables/power supply.
