As someone who had only played Ninja Storm 1, I was blown away by how drawn back everything was. Where is the fun exploration of the leaf village, being able to do missions, and where are all the fights?
For a game that is focused on Naruto and Sauske’s entire journey, I have to say I played as multiple variants of these two characters. Story mode was a slide show of the anime with narration, giving the broad strokes of the events that happened and feels very cheap. When the in-game characters are used it looks really sharp and amazing. I also disliked not getting to do a lot of the fights, for example the Chunin exam skips the first (because nothing to do there) and second test (Forrest of death was great in the manga) and preliminaries for everyone except Naruto vs Kiba. I would love to do those fights. They also skip the Sound Ninja 5 fights, one of my favorite arcs.
Fights are really fun, in the story mode the game helps people having trouble with continues. The challenges are fun to do but challenging at times where you swear your combo challenge was interfered by the CPU on purpose. The controls take a bit of time but once you’ve done it enough times it’s not overwhelming like Street Fighter. Different characters move at different speeds and have varying reach which is nice since most of the characters are diverse. There was an awakening system that gives a boost if your lower than 50% health, but if your aiming for S-rank you are never going to use that mechanic. You can fight as a team with a total of three people, although you can’t have Sakura fight with her kid, teen, an Adult self together. Being able to summon and swap between them is fun, although Story mode will have you play solo a majority of the time.
Online mode, is for PS plus so if you don’t have that you can’t fight online.
Overall
Would have loved to have had a Konoha to explore and do side missions. Would have also loved to have done more of the fights in the story. Having a slide show of the anime sucks. Fights are fun and the major calling for the game. Although you play a majority as some version of Naruto and Sauske, with a handful of exceptions. I really wanted to love this game but it is a downgrade in aspects to the first Ninja Storm. I don’t see myself replaying story mode as I already got the S-rank on everything in 24 hours of play time. For a series that should be better than the first, is falling short and comes off as Average to Mediocre.

I love it so much GRT it rn!

I Really like this, I am not usually for these arena-type of brawlers & anime-brawlers or 3D arena fighters…I’ve Always been ALOT more of a fan of Traditional Fighting Game, such as Street Fighter, Killer Instinct, Guilty Gear, Melty Blood, MOTW, SF3:3S and Alot More! But, I really liked this, as an anime arena-brawler (however I haven’t played a single “Ninja Storm” game), but I like this a Ton, and its pretty Good, I’m a Huge Naruto Fan, so I Enjoyed this Immensely!💯 Keep in Mind, I’m a CASUAL giving this review, so this may not mean anything, as I’m not a “Non-Casual/Hardcore” game for this, so my Review may be pointless, lol. However I Like this Alot!
Best game ever definitely recommend so fun and good –
