The pedal has some weight to it and the knobs turn smoothly, so it definetly doesn’t feel cheap even though the housing is plastic. One thing to keep in mind, is you have to be careful as it is made of plastic. Try not to drop it or stomp on it with force. The sound quality is awesome and the price is super affordable compared to other pedals. *Make sure you use a mono quarter inch cable for the input of the pedal otherwise the pedal won’t turn on even thought it’s plugged in or on a 9v battery (I used a stereo quarter inch and it wouldn’t turn on)*

    Pros
    + Affordable
    + Great Sound Quality
+ Powered by Battery or DC adapter
    + Feels Expensive
    Cons
    – Made of Plastic

I’m a hobbyist guitarist. I play at church every so often and I play about 2 gigs a year for other stuff . Inbetween that I play at home. This is one of my first pedals and I was pleasantly surprised. Yes, it’s cheap plastic but you get what you pay for there. The base is heavy metal.

I plan on getting a AC power source because I don’t want to keep pressing on the plastic hinge to change the battery. Once that piece goes then the whole pedal will be trashed. So, that’s my only recommendation if you don’t already have a power source.

As for tone; I don’t think I have a very refined ear. I may not be the best for a music tone review but it definitely makes my acoustic electric sounds smoother than ever. I won’t do a lot of traveling with this pedal so it should last forever but we’ll see. I’ll return here to edit this if I have issues. For $30… I’ll probably just throw it away if something does come up. I can’t believe it’s that cheap.

Great chorus pedal. Sounds great! I primarily use a Boss CE-2w waza but wanted something to travel with a not worry about. Sounds great and a bang for the buck.

Låter precis lika bra som flera gånger dyrare pedaler. Kan bara rekommenderas.

As the name suggests it is a Chorus pedal. It adds ‘depth’ to the original signal making it sound as if 2 similar signals are being present. It works absolutely fine in Mono mode which I doubted. In clean play, it helps to brighten the notes of arpeggios or low bpm rhythm also. Good and must have product for any level guitarist.

I bought this after I watched a demo video. I really liked what it did, but when it came, it didn’t work. The light came on when I hit the stomp switch, but there was no change in the sound coming fro my guitar amp. I went with another brand that cost more, but really delivered.

BEHRINGER ULTRA CHORUS UC200 arrived and after reading the instructions I inserted a fresh battery and plugged my guitar into the unit and it into my Black Star amp. There was no change in the sound through the UC200 on or off, other than an intense clicking when all settings were to max. I unplugged my cables, pulled the battery and inserted the battery into my Ultra Metal UM300, plugged in my cables and test passed. Reset the UC200, double checked my connections and routing. No change in the sound. Contacted Amazon via link and I’m returning for exchange. I’ll update if all goes well.

Okay, here I am as I intended, making an update on the original review. THe return did not cost me anything but the time to package it and send it. I did get the replacement UC200 and it works very well. In fact, compared to units costing sometimes more than double I would say it is worth every penny. The return of the first UC200 was discouraging but only because of the delay.

This design may be a less durable design, since the more expensive chorus effect units are metal cases and use a “snap” switch and this unit is a hard plastic/polymer and uses what could be considered a component micro switch. I don’t know which type of switch would be more durable to repeated use but thus far where cost was the issue for me, I’m pleased with the sound effect it offers. I’m giving a 4 star not only because of the returned item, but I have some reservations as to the durability of the unit and how the design deviates from what has been a traditional and reliable design. Only time will tell how this unit holds up to my use of it.

OK so first talk about the plastic body. Enough about that from other people complaining about it. The plastic body feels fine, works fine, and is one of the reasons you are paying so little for behringer pedals. There’s nothing wrong with their “plastic” pedals and they stand up to all sorts of torture. So don’t let comments fool you about the pedal being in a plastic body. It’s fine. Matter of fact, I feel that the pedal/trigger part of their pedals feels better than my bosses and other click style triggers.

Now about the sound. Here’s where I am confused. All of my current and past behringer pedals have been outstanding. I have 2 of their delays and reverb, and they are AWESOME. They are better than most 100.00+ pedals. They are clean, work well, and have very strong or powerful effects. Thats’ what is a trip about this chorus pedal. Based on my other behringer pedals I expect this thing to really be great. Not sure what the deal is/was but it really didn’t give much of a chorus effect even on max settings. I found this very odd. I don’t think anything was wrong with it, it was just a really weak chorus signal. So I know this doesn’t help, but maybe I just got a dude? I returned it and got a different chorus. This is the only berhinger product I have returned.
