Before purchasing this monitor I was having a very Tigua time getting accurate colors on my photos when i was editing them in Lightroom and Photoshop. This monitor is absolutely a game changer. The screen is a bit smaller and I’m hindsight I should of just spent the extra couple hundred to upgrade in size but outside of that, for the price and quality, this monitor is worth the purchase.

I bought this to replace a 10-year old Dell Ultrasharp that had died. New Dells this size are no longer colour calibrated.
I edit a lot of technical photos as well as family photos. I have been using it for over a year, and I am still very happy with it.

Easily the nicest monitor that I’ve ever used outside of the LG Panels used in Apple devices.
You’d be hard pressed to find a better monitor for the price. At just a touch over $2K this is an excellent addition for those extremely budget conscious shoppers like me who only have a little bit of extra cash to spend and need a good value for money purchase.
This monitor has really helped me to take photography and design to the next level, and opened up doors for me that might not have opened otherwise if I didn’t have the type of setup this monitor was able to provide me with.
10/10 would recommend.

Color on monitor is excellent. Easy to set up.

First off the shading hood is packaged extraordinarily well; every piece is individually foam wrapped and has its own separate space within the shipping box.
The shading Hood mounts very solidly even though at first blush it seems like it may be rickety.
You do have to disassemble and put it together differently if you wish your monitor to be in portrait mode instead of landscape, but in the end this leads to it being more secure.
The inside is lined with a black felt to keep the displays light from bouncing back, and there’s a trapdoor at the top for your calibrator.
I’m inclined to call it overpriced the fact is that in today’s economy it’s likely priced significantly less than any other brands would be.
All in all I’m very happy with the purchase, I find it very well built and secure and works very well for my needs.

I use this as a DIT/Digitech and find it suits 95% of my client’s needs as an external client monitor (paired with some hollylands/etc.). Right out of the box it found its color/contrast/etc. were most of the way there, with a little help it was close enough to my Macbook/iPad for me to deploy it with the rest of my kit. For the price, I’m not babying it like I would an EIZO or pricier model and I am more than happy with it, I’m sure you will be too!

It seems like a normal monitor to most. FHD, 60hz, 24 inchs. But to people who need colour accuracy, its amazing. The delta e of less than 2 on my included calibration report checks out, easy navigation of menu, very versatile stand, and a 10 bit panel. If the size and resolution doesn’t concern you and you simply need colour accuracy, I’d highly recommend the monitor.

Okay here is the bad first. Calibration out of the box is awful. I don’t know why the manufacturer makes such a big deal about the factory calibration when it is not good. Display is darker at the edges which I do not like but apparently is typical for this type of display. The monitor comes with several video cables, but does not come with an HDMI to HDMI cable nor does it come with a Display Port to Display Port cable. It comes with a mini Display Port to full display port cable, a USB-C cable, and a USB-A cable but none of these cables worked to connect to my Dell desktop computer. I had to go out and get my own Display Port and HDMI cables. I don’t understand why at this price point these are not included. Another thing I do not like is the base of the stand. The base extends around four inches out from under the monitor causing me to place the monitor further away to fit a keyboard in front. This might not be a problem for most people but for me it is an issue because I have lousy eyesight. I found a smaller profile keyboard to fit.
And here are the positives. Color and image quality is beautiful after calibrating with my Datacolor Spyder Elite 4. The build of the monitor is excellent. The monitor is heavy but there is a handle at the top of the stand which is a nice feature. The monitor has a lot of features including the hotkey puck which is great to switch between color profiles without having to go into the monitor’s menus.
Overall I would say that this is a good purchase for me and I do recommend the monitor,

My SW270C is just coming up on 3 yrs of use. This display has been fantastic. It has been used for all the things most people do, like watching video, browsing the web, using Microsoft Office Apps, etc. However its primary mission each day was high end photo editing with photoshop, and high end video editing with DaVinci Resolve. The real battlefield is in Photoshop where I need to work in precise colors and color workspaces at macro level and down to the pixel. Consistent and stable color and monitor performance from center to all 4 corners of the display is essential. This monitor gets a 5 star rating across all. While I have an X-Rite color calibrator, the monitor is so stable that it can actually go for months without requiring a re-calibration. And when I do, the BenQ Palette Master Element software is quick, easy, and accurate.
The monitor came exceptionally well packaged and supplied with every cable one would need. The technology of this monitor was well thought out and ahead of its time. While it came with HDMI and DP interfaces, it also came with option for connection via USB-C to USB-C. A recent upgrade of my Mac allowed me to plug this monitor directly into the USB-C port and it was up and running without the need for video cables.
Benq has excellent support for this display with all the documentation you would like and software along with software updates. I have used this display on both a high end Windows PC and a MacBook Pro M1 Max and it gets 5 stars across the board.

Purchased this monitor because a colleague of mine (photographer) recommended it. I’m so happy I went with his recommendation and purchased it. It has been an amazing additional to my work station. I’m able to connect my 16″ Macbook Pro via USB-C cable and work on all my projects. Its bright, the color is accurate, and I love the hood that comes with the monitor to block out additional light around the screen. I’d recommend this monitor to anyone who needs a great quality monitor for editing/working on a computer as a creative. The matte finish of the screen cuts down on glare, the height adjustability is great. I’d say this monitor compares to that of the 27″ EIZO, but much less expensive but same quality.

There are PLENTY of good, mainstream brand, larger size and lower priced 4K monitors out there. The reason for anyone to consider this 2k BenQ monitor is because of its (claimed) capability for hardware calibration so that you don’t have to tie your display to any one particular system.
But alas, BenQ’s proprietary software for such calibration either does not work at all or just randomly works on random systems, you are at the complete mercy of BenQ’s dark art! For example, no matter what I do I can never get my (supposedly compatible) i1 Display Pro colorimeter recognized by either of BenQ’s calibration software (PME or PMU), I’m permanently stuck at their initial app screen! It turns out these BenQ “1st party” calibrators (that are required for performing hardware calibration) have known conflicts to many popular 3rd party monitor drivers that might have been previously or inadvertently embedded in your system. Apparently and for whatever dark reason BenQ refuses to acknowledge the existence such conflicts or bugs.
BenQ’s support is of no help either, the support phone listed on its website is of an overseas number (from Taiwan), the live chat is a dead end. Even if/when you do get a very tardy response from BenQ’s email support, the “answer” is never relevant but WORSE, it blatantly omits and ignores your questions altogether as if you have never asked! This so-called “support” is nothing but a pretense of service (or worse a deliberated scam)!
If I knew this before I wouldn’t have bought this monitor. No degree of “hardware calibration” is worth of such frustration!
