What a wonderfully reassuring book to read in these uncertain times of ours! Looking forward to putting the sub-title of “How gratitude can transform your life” to good practice. The author takes the reader by the hand, using his own personal experiences and study on the topic by giving a concise, step-by-step guide of how to develop an ‘attitude of gratitude’ on a daily basis. Beautifully, informatively written with humor and grace.

This is a very good book. It really has been providing a perspective change that I am in need of right now! The author shares research in a very simple and understandable way. His voice as a writer is easy and flows well. It does not feel pretencious at all, just helpful.

A frase from the book that caught my attention:

“Gratitude is not a trick and not an escape from pain…No one gets a free pass from pain in life. But certain types of suffering are optional, because they are all in our minds”

The autor writes in an practical way and I can say that since starting reading this book I’ve had more knowledge on how to control my thoughts and practice more gratitude.

Very inspirational! You’ll learn the benefits of gratitude to yourself as well as others as you practice it. First we need to get past what gets in the way and that’s covered too.

A very practical book full of illustrations and ideas for how to build a spirit of gratitude. Also, enjoyed that theory was woven throughout in ways that were simple to grasp. From a Christian perspective, which fits me, but one need not be Chtistian to benefit.

In the spirit of this topic 😉 I want to express my gratitude and thanks to the author of this book. It is concise, to the point and explains enough about the practice of gratitude to reassure and help you make a good start. Pair it with a gratitude journaling app or notebook and you’re on your way to better mental health regardless of your situation.

This is not an easy subject to write a book about, so the author has done an amazing job on an easily overlooked subject. However, we all understand how frustrating an ungrateful person is and why we don’t want to go out of our way to help them. Being ungrateful is a downward spiral. The book does a good job of explaining how to break this cycle for our own good and helps to combat the natural default to negativity and seeing only the bad stuff rather than seeing positives. The author demonstrates some great ways to use small changes of thinking to modify gloomy thinking and appreciate what is really going on in the moment. We have a choice between waking up and smelling the coffee and waking up and smelling something which is also brown but with a less inviting odour. I do understand that there is something safe about dwelling in our own negativity but it is a pretence and an exaggeration.
