I searched everywhere for a 4 man tent that could be used for my family of me, my wife and two sons for lightweight backpacking. After months of web searching decided on this. Have just returned from three days use in the Cairngorm Mountains in Scotland and overall we are impressed! The tent easily fits us all and in the wet weather we were able to store wet packs and waterproofs in one porch and cook in the other. I was worried about the stability, but it did handle 35mph winds, for the weather I need it for it was fine, for really bad weather i.e. Scottish high level camping I would use a heavier 4 season tent. I made sure it was pitched correctly and I did use extra long strong pegs, plus all guys out. The tent did buck and boom A LOT, but it held, although it is noisy as fly creaks over poles. There was one point early in the night where one of the poles bowed in rather alarmingly, but I retightened all the anchor points – which had slackened off slightly, and it didn’t happen again even though the winds increased. As the dad I never sleep well in bad weather, but the tent stood up to the gusts and the family slept. It endured prolonged, wind driven torrential rain and we stayed completely dry. No condensation even with the four of us in the tent in cool 6ºc temps. I did put an old shower curtain under the groundsheet to protect it – I will probably buy the footprint. We had to strip down in the rain and managed to pack everything including the inner from within the fly (tricky without the proper footprint, but ‘do-able’) emerging to quickly pack the rain soaked fly in a dry bag for the walk out. For what we need, 3 season backpacking, it is ideal.

I use this tent mostly for back packing. Great light weight tent that can quickly be setup. It is waterproof and I’ve camped with it in the rain. It vents well so you don’t wake up with condensation on the tent walls. The small vestibule is great for storing shoes and your pack out of the weather and outside the tent. You will need to buy the tent footprint separately. For the price paid I think it should have come with one but a cheap HF tarp will suffice.

I love this tent! It is light, easy to setup and take down. Very well designed. I also bought the compatible footprint for it. That was a very decision because the tent integrates with the footprint adding greater stability. There was plenty of room for me with my 6 foot 4 inch frame along with my backpack. I slept alone in the tent. However, it would be good for two adult persons. Fitting three adult persons would certainly be a challenge.

I’ve taken this tent on two long hikes in Wind River, WY, and the ND Badlands. Pack weight is a key consideration, and I love how light it is. Despite the light weight, the tent has held up through some challenging conditions. We had hard rain and heavy winds most nights in the Winds, and I slept soundly through the storms. The tent is also super easy to set up – takes about five minutes and is very intuitive. I also love the inner overhead pockets – great way to store items you may need quick access to.

Love the tent. Great hight and room for 2 plus some gear. Great vestibule and light weight. Great places for gear and well thought out vestibule, BUT…

After 1 use, the clip that holds one of the tent poles snapped in half. This is an oversight in the tents design, and for the money I spent on this tent, a parts failure like this is unacceptable.

The manufacturer is going to sent another clip, but that’ll cost $30+ in shipping and I’ll have to take the tent to a seamstress to have the repair done. The material the clip is made of is a fairly soft plastic. BIG AGNES, PLEASE REPLACE THESE WITH A LIGHTWIGHT ALUMINUM PART. Possibly a slip on, or clip on plastic replacement if aluminum is too costly.

Haven’t taken the tent out yet so this is only half of a review. Will update after I hit the trail.
I can say setup is easy and the tent is super light. I doubled my interior space while taking a pound off my dry weight. The material seems very thin but only time will tell.
In order to tie the tent down for severe weather you need more stakes than the company provides. Not a game changer but if you plan on really severe weather you will need 12 not 8.
The dual vestibules are a really nice touch. Given im a single camper my gear will be in the tent with me but to shelter wood, chairs etc at night will be very welcome.
The conversion of a vestibule wall to a rain roof using trekking poles sounds better than it is. Having the “roof” to cook during the rain is a nice touch but if you have any wind the roof will be useless and the rain will likely get in your tent. (Used a sprinkler test and gusts of wind blew the water right into the tent wall). With the vestibule down, the tent was perfectly dry and shed the water without any problem.

I’m really excited about this tent and have found no problems in back yard testing. I will update after my next trip which will be a winter camp.

UPDATE- everything I wanted and then some! What a great tent. Fits perfectly in the long side-pocket of my GG mariposa. Made it through a really bad storm no issues. Set up easy peasy in the field. Lots of interior room at the same weight of most one man tents. Freestanding for my next trip into the high Sierras. Get this tent!

Update #2. New info worth mentioning!! Sitting in camp in the great sand dunes nat park. Got a weather alert over the ZOLEO. 60-70 mph dust storm on the way!!!! Handled it like a champ. The wind speeds in our sheltered area were probably around 30-40 max but it keept about 90% of the sand out and stood up to hard winds for 3 days straight. Excellent product that continues to impress!!

Fully freestanding is what makes this tent so awesome. Two large vestibules, side entry, great headroom, and good quality materials are icing on the cake. The sides are held taut and flat to the ground; no flapping, sagging, or floor/side wrinkles like the BA Fly Creek. It’s basically a miniature car camping dome tent. I’ve backpacked with tarps, tarp tents, single wall tents, and double wall semi-freestanding tents, and none compare to the easy set up and protection offered by the Copper Spur. It is worth carrying the extra weight for the headroom alone and to never again set up a semi-freestanding tent short a corner stake because of rocks. I would rather have not had the “awning” feature, it is more trouble than it is worth. The tent in its bag is a little large and takes up valuable space, so I carry the poles and stakes on the outside of my pack and the tent inside. I love this tent.

Love this tent. It is awesome. Lightweight, very well made, easy to put up and lots of room. Spent 4 days wildcamping in Glenco and it was a dream. Love the LED lights too.

I bought this for my husband and when we got it we both thought it was light weight, a bit flimsy and we didn’t have high hopes. Boy were we wrong. Easy set up and shockingly durable. It was my first time camping and his 253rd time (approximate only – but a lot). It rained at some point almost everyday or at night and not a drop of water got in. It was in the 40’s at night and I was not cold one time. It was perfect. The best part: we were able to put everything back in the bag when we were finished – I had my doubts. Only thing I would advise is to order a few more stakes – we needed 4-6 additional. This is an awesome tent and comfortably for me, my husband and our 60 lb golden retriever. Great tent!!

0 stars to the outfit that picked up and “delivered” this package. Package was “lost” and I never received it, even though it was marked as delivered.

5 stars for the tent itself. I found one locally. It is very light and easy to pitch, and packs into the smallest package I have ever seen a 2 person tent go into.

Arrived ripped and damaged, clearly used and returned by someone then sent out to us. Shocked at the state of this item since it’s a high value item. Don’t buy this item here, try a smaller retailer who will take the due care. So disappointed at the awful customer service here and just really poor experience.
