The hose hook up for this was not as expected. I can find no hose anywhere that works with it. Also when I tried to return it Amazon customer service told me it was a non returnable item. Went back and looked at the description and couldn’t find anywhere it said it was not returnable. If it’s not returnable Amazon then SAY SO!!

The case could have been struddier, however, the stover works with with the propane can that I bought. Took this up to the mountains and enough some hot tea in the cold. Perfecf for picnics or camping.

In my previous business life I sold emergency preparedness supplies for over 35 years and sold similar butane stoves just like this (just higher quality because I was putting my name behind it). I know a thing or to about these types of stoves. There are many different qualities of these stoves on Amazon you can find. I would rate this at the lower end for its quality. It is made of thin pressed steel for the body (not plastic) and has an aluminum burner head.
When deciding what stove to buy, ask yourself what will you use it for? If getting it for one-off camping, yearly BBQ or simple preparedness, this will probably work fine for most. If you are going to use the stove for a weekly commercial business use, I suggest a more heavy duty made one. See a restaurant supply house. This one is NOT Underwriters Laboratory or Canadian CSA approved.
These stoves can be used for BBQ’s, camping, parties, outdoor events and nice for Emergency Preparedness (easy to store a case of fuel for these). I’d put one of these type stoves on your “must” list for survival.
This stove uses standard 8 oz butane fuel canisters that you can buy at any restaurant supply store and some camping stores. I just looked and you can buy 12 bottles of 8 oz butane fuel (about the size of a spray paint can) for about $27 (or about $2.25 each) on Amazon. The bottles are super convenient to store and carry. They have a super long shelf-life (probably 15 years +). Butane does burn hotter than propane for faster cooking (though propane bottles are easier to find everywhere and have twice the amount of fuel).
PROPANE: Now my BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT with this stove is that it is supposed to be DUEL FUEL usage, BUT there is no way to do that. IT COMES WITH NO PROPANE HOSE (as shown in photo but not included) so you could use standard 16 oz camping propane fuel.
Amazon does offer one company’s stove with a duel fuel WITH a propane hose (see Camplux) for about $10 more. For me, if I wanted the propane fuel option, I would choose that one myself. There is a hole on the outer right side for a propane hose to go through and attach to a barbed brass nozzle, just no hose. Overall a poor set up for propane usage without a lot of extra time and cost of getting a hose bottle setup.
This stove on the underside can get very hot so make sure you have a safe BBQ mat or something protective so as not to damage your tabletop or plastic table. Be sure to let stove cool down before putting back into the carrying case. You’ll need to reverse the cook-top to fit it back in the case.
As far as operation, it is simple. Just slide in the butane canister, lock it in with the lever and turn the heat valve all the way on until it clicks to ignite the piezo self-ignition. No matches needed. That it. No, it is not “automatic”. Burner works well from low simmer to full on to boil water quickly.
BOTTOMLINE: This is a simple and convenient portable propane stove for occasional use. For $30 it is OK. It will work for most people just fine. FOR ME THOUGH, I’d spend a a little more for a nicer quality stove and definitely one with a propane hose included.

The Bioexcel is a nifty little stove that puts out a strong flame. It can be used for camping, emergency use, or any time an extra burner in needed around the house. It uses standard 8.8oz butane canisters that are available at most general and outdoor stores. I got it primarily for use on my warmer weather car camping trips as an adjunct to my regular two burner propane stove.
The stove is easy to set up and use. Simply flip over the pot support panel, lift the lid to the fuel canister compartment, and insert a butane canister. Close the lid and push down the locking lever to secure the canister in place. Rotate the fuel control knob until it activates the piezo igniter and ignites the flame. Adjust the flame to the desired setting. Easy peasy.
I was impressed at how easy the stove ignited without popping the flame….i.e. no mini-explosion. I turned the stove on and off several times and it ignited on the first try every time. I then put roughly one liter of room temperature water in a medium sauce pan, placed the pan on the stove, and turned the stove on high. It took about five minutes, give or take, to bring the water to a simmer and another minute and a half to bring it to a rolling boil. It used 26 grams of fuel to do that.
I like this stove and I will likely be using it a lot this summer when I plan on camping as much as I can. It lights easily and produces a solid, hot flame. It is easy to use and will hold a large heavy pot or frying pan. The flame adjusts from a barely there simmer to a substantial ring of flame that will boil a pot of water in hardly any time at all. I really like the molded plastic carrying/storage case that protects the stove during transport. But, although the stove has no plastic parts, the body is made of overly thin, stamped steel giving it a distinct feeling of flimsiness. I haven’t yet used it in a real world application, so I can’t say for certain it won’t hold up to rugged use, but it does give that impression. Additionally, the stove is marketed as dual fuel, i.e. it should work with both propane and butane. However, no adapter is provided for using it with the ubiquitous 1lb propane bottles, nor is there any mention in the sparse manual on how to connect it to a propane canister. This is important because butane loses its efficacy when the temperatures approach the mid-thirties and, if the stove is to be used during the shoulder seasons, propane will still function down to the mid-to low twenties. All in all, this latter caveat is not a deal breaker, but if the stove is marketed as intended to be used with propane, it should have the necessary parts so that can happen.
