I bought this to put together a large 34x36x12 metal framed portable carport. There are a lot of metal to metal 5/16 screws. My old 12v impact driver over heated and wouldn’t cut it. This one has a great variable speed trigger so you can slow down as approaching tight to not overtighten and strip. Battery life is great for what I used it for-about half the day. I really like the simplicity of the chuck, 1/4″hex bits fit in the center or 1/2 impact sockets fit the outside. I haven’t used it yet as an impact but it seems to have plenty of power and NO HOSE NEEDED! It came with a very nice travel bag that holds everything with some room for bits/sockets. I have other Bosch 18v tools and the batteries are compatible with those as well. My experience with the other Bosch 18v tools is they are well made and are holding up to regular use. This impact driver is the same!

Hab 2 x1,5A-Akkus.

Purchased tool only drill august 2023
December 2024 my drill caught on fire in side my drill bag, with the switch locked on the drill, my 50k work truck caught fire with two 40 cf acetylene bottles.

I used a second gen Freak until I dropped it off a ladder one too many times. Rather than fix the old tool, I decided I’d go for a little upgrade. It’s just like the 2nd gen but with a better light, different speed and mode settings, and a green indicator light. It also feels a little faster/more powerful on breakaway/reverse than the older 2nd gen Freak did. I’m an electrical mechanic, so I tend to really put my impact drivers through their turns, and these Bosch Freaks are fantastic for their versatility and the fact that they don’t get too hot with lots of prolonged use. Just truly great tools made for working men and women who need the versatility of having both a quarter and half inch socket at their disposal without worrying about buying and shattering socket adapters. 5/5 stars, these new Bosch tools coming out are impressive, unlike their older line ups.

The impact has lots of power when you need it the most you can change it for different types of screws and the light is a lot brighter and goes across the entire span of the bottom of the impact which gives you the best brightest light possible

i got this to replace an aging Bosch 12V impact i have been using for years.
i decided to go with this device due to the ability to also use 1/2″ sockets. it EASILY removes properly torqued lug nuts from cars/SUV’s. as a matter of fact, i just rotated the tires on 2 vehicles (40 total lug nuts) and only used 1 bar out of 3 from the 2AH battery i was using!!
the bluetooth module is pretty cool for a few added features, but i’m not too sure it’s an absolute necessity. but for an extra $20, why not? 🙂

Love the settings too. You can switch between 3 different power settings. It works well. Love this drill.

Bosch if you’re reading this, pay very close attention….
If you’re part of any construction or tool groups you’ll know the debate is always between DeWalt and Milwaukee, Bosch is rarely mentioned and it’s partly due to the quality of their tools. Let me explain.
1860CN purchases:
June 22, 2023: Lasted an hour before I could no longer remove the 1/4″ bit. It is simply jammed and will not release so it was returned complete with the stuck bit.
June 25, 2023: Opened the box to a new unit missing the button and light cover plate – returned
June 30, 2023: Placed the order for my 3rd and final purchase of a 1860cn. Fingers crossed but based on my experience with this, and with my 1800c in for service under Bosch warranty, I am pretty sure it will be returned too.
My Impact Purchase History:
2017 – Purchased a Bosch 25618 1/4 impact which still works great today but lacks in the power category
2022 – Purchased a Bosch GDX18V-1800C which was seldom used with 1/4 bits until May 2023 since I am building a new deck. – Broken & currently sent in for repair under Bosch warranty
2023 – Now on my 3rd GDX18v-1860cn and I hope this one arrives in new condition and works as it should.
Bosch if you are listening you need to change your impacts using the red ring to release bits is simply garbage and do not take my word or experience please google your own tool. Yes I was using impact rated bits (send with my Simpson Strong-Tie screws) and I was using new 4.0a or 8.0a Bosch OEM batteries.
As a Bosch customer (two Bosch GEX18V-5N, BOSCH GOP18V-28N, BOSCH GSB18V-490B12, BOSCH GXL18V-251B25, BOSCH GBA18V80, BOSCH GLI18V-4000CN, Bosch GXS18V-15N15, BOSCH GSB18V-535CB15, six BOSCH GBA18V40) I expect better from a brand I seem to defend quite often. But maybe just maybe this is one of the reasons DeWalt and Milwaukee dominate the forums
