I’ve had this drill/driver (not the hammer version) for a couple of weeks and have used it for a couple of projects. So far, I’m very happy with it. I can only compare it to my old Ryobi, which was much heavier, with older battery technology. This is far superior, handles much better, and is far more usable. It’s half the weight and yet much more powerful. My first project entailed putting in about 25 sheet metal screws, drilling a bunch of holes in dense wood and and in metal, and putting in some long screws. This used up just 1/3 of the charge on one battery. The drill provides plenty of power and it’s also easy to control at slow speeds. Batteries charge from zero in about 50 min and from half power in about half that time. (Batteries have 3-level state-of-charge LEDs on them, which is helpful). And the drill has a small LED to light up your work area. At first I thought it was too weak, but when I was working in a dark area it worked perfectly.
The only snafu I’ve encountered is with the chuck. This is the first locking chuck I’ve used and the manual does not explain how to use it. For that I had to find a video online. You need to turn the chuck till it clicks, which locks it, but not further. If you tighten it beyond that point, it tends to bind when opening it. At first I thought it was broken, but avoiding over-tightening solved the problem. (There is a persistent bit of lore online that you should turn till it clicks and then turn backwards till it clicks again. This seems to be a myth. The backward turn releases it.)
All in all, I’m very happy with this purchase.

I really like the drill. It’s fairly compact and light compared to my 18V Bosch hammer drill which is nice. It’s very solid feeling and the chuck is easy to use and solid metal. Battery life is good and it has plenty of drilling power. It was a good add to the rest of my Bosch 18V ecosystem and a good deal since it came with two batteries and charger since you can’t have too many.

I am a multimedia sculptor, and I use my drills a lot. I have been happy with the Bosch cordless drill that I purchased about 10 years ago. It is still going strong. I ordered a second Bosch cordless drill a few weeks ago, and I am mostly pleased with it. Here are the differences between the new model and the old model.
When I squeeze the trigger on the old drill, the bit could move very slowly. Sometimes this is just what I want to have happen, especially if I am drilling a very small hole into a piece of hardwood. The new drill seems more powerful, but it is not as subtle as the old one. Squeezing the trigger produces a medium speed or a quick speed, but I cannot seem to get it to drill ever so slowly — which is what I want at times. Also, I want to mention that when I release the trigger on the new Bosch drill, it sometimes makes kind of a clunking sound, as if it has gone from a very fast speed to zero with a fraction of a second. This is actually what has happened. I wonder if this clunking will actually damage the drill over 10,000 uses?
My older Bosch drill never gave that same clunk when going from its fastest speed to zero. Not sure if I should be concerned about this.
I ordered a third Bosch drill and it came in today. This way, if I am drilling progressively bigger holes, I don’t have to keep switching out drill bits. Instead, I can just pick up one drill after the other. I’m glad that I still have my old reliable Bosch drill, with which can drill a hole very slowly if I squeeze the trigger quite lightly. The new ones don’t seem to have that function.
I expect battery power will be fine with my new drills just as with my old one.

I’ve only used it a few times so far but it’s very small, very light and works very well.
I like the brightness of the led and the batteries aren’t too heavy so you can work overhead.
A+

Je possédais déjà une perceuse Bosch qui fut endommagée par l’eau. Voyant ce produit sur Amazon avec même type de batterie compatible, je tenais à le remplacer étant très satisfait de cette perceuse.

I was looking for a “do it all” compact drill and so far very satisfied with my choice. Lightweight, lots of RPMs and comes with two battery which is a must for cordless tools. Would recommend it to every DIYer is looking for a reliable and quality drill.

I think it was 80 to 90 bucks when I bought it. With battery and charger. High quality cordless drill. Does its job well.

This 18v Bosch drill (particularly the battery) is too heavy and too bulky compared to other drills. Furthermore, it’s loud – it growls terribly. The DeWalt 20v line is both more compact and more powerful. Also, the Makita 12v 3/8” line is light, compact, and easy to use as is Bosch’s own 12v line. In short, there are a number of other tools that I prefer over the Bosch 18v line.

I have a Bosch cordless drill identical to the one I just ordered. After 3 years it burned up, Yea, motor literally caught on fire. It happens, I am satisfied I got good service out of my old drill. I looked to order a new one same as the old, and found this package on Amazon. I ordered it because of the type bag that was pictured in the description. I was surprised to see that it came with the same briefcase type case that my old one was in. This is disappointing as the thing I liked least about the Bosch is this briefcase, every time I open it, stuff that I have put in the lid falls out. I can’t tell you how many times I have had to pick up the instruction book that I keep in the pocket of the lid. The drill is great, the case is disappointing.
