D. Saverino –
Do not buy this product. It does not work properly and there is not support.
A boatman –
worked fully up to expectations on Double bass and bass viol however on using it to tune piano it would not operate over the last octave & half.

When my 14-15 year old version of this Boss Tuner quit working, I looked to buy a less expensive one. First I downloaded a Fender app to my phone which is handy, but I found very hard to use. I also have an old Korg tuner, but it just did not have the versatility of my old Boss Tuner. I decided to buy another Boss tuner and am glad I did. There is no compromising with this tuner. The mic works great for my acoustic guitars and I like to plug it in for my Strat. I expect it to last 15 years like the last one. If it does, the price is not really bad.

It works great, it keeps time as well as other electronic metronomes (Which is really very well, certainly far better than it would be possible for a human to keep rhythm even after years of practice, so that’s more than good enough.) It “tunes” (measures the frequency of the sound from the guitar strings) exactly the same as other good quality tuners do. I expect it’ll use batteries much faster than just a tuner would. What I can say is that a mechanical / clockwork metronome is much cooler and makes a nicer sound, but is also a lot more expensive.

I got this for more accurate tuning and for setting intonation. I am not going to spend the money on a strobe tuner even though its more accurate. This did the job great. Comes with a nice little pouch to keep it from getting scratched too. I like that when you are doing general tuning it beeps when you are on. Easy to use.

El equipo es funcional acorde a lo que menciona pero por el precio deberia ser mas rapido.

Was looking for something to replace the TU-70. This is junk. Works like a $20 tuner but it’s $40
Mattia –
Metronomo utile e con tutte le funzioni necessarie anche per professionisti, il volume è un po’ tenue ma può essere messo in cuffia!
Alexander –
I looked EVERYWHERE for a tuner with an analog display. They’re nearly impossible to find, but I always feel like they’re more accurate because I can see the slightest wiggle in the needle. Far better than a machine that goes “ping,” in my opinion. This tuner is exactly what I wanted, and it has lots of extra features. Besides flats and chromatic tuning, it will also emit a reference note. I don’t play gigs, so I can’t tell you how this would work if you wanted to touch up your tuning on the stage or something, but it’s easy enough to work with at home or in a studio.
Siti Sahoo –
User friendly. Simple yet covers all necessary aspects. Value for money. Wish it had a DC adaptor port, wud have been perfect.
John Collins –
I think I would prefer the stompbox version but still a great little tuner.

This is my second TU-12 tuner from Boss. The first regular TU I had for some thirty years, I took care of it , tuned all my guitars with it. It went to every session and gig I had. It continued to perform flawlessly right up until hurricane Irma took it. I tried other tuners since, but was unhappy with the inaccuracy of today’s full electronic product. Nothing beats needle precision. So I started getting serious again and was happy to find the Boss TU-12EX. Just like an old friend, but improved. Favorite part? The new ‘perfect tune’ light and tone indicator. Even helps make tuning my 12 string easier. Thank you for another great Boss product. Worth every penny!

This tuner replaces the TU-12H, which I used for years. The improvements Boss has made are as follows: this tuner is thinner and lighter, has a power on switch which is clearly indicated by an led, will shut itself off after a half hour if you forget to, is powered by AA batteries rather than a difficult to install 9v, and has an absolutely fantastic meter which is steady, accurate and well lit. It also has an audible beep which sounds when the string is in tune, which is helpful. However, the older model (no longer available) had a very nice, tight fitting, padded case which could be snapped open with one thumb, stayed on during use and did an excellent job of protecting the tuner. The new model has a cheap velvet drawstring bag which must be taken off before using the tuner and sure enough, on the 2nd gig it slid out of the bag and crashed, unprotected, onto the floor. No damage, score one for Boss reliability, but that old case design will be missed. Also, the indicators which light up to tell you which string is being tuned have been decreased in size. Not a problem unless you are an old jazzer squinting thru your bifocals in a darkened club.
All told, this tuner is an improvement over the old model, extremely easy to use and VERY accurate. It hasn’t been out long enough to prove that it is as durable as the old 12H. Would have been 5 stars with a good case.
