Reviewing pedals is so subjective, my 5 star could be your 1 star if we’re looking for different things. All I can say about this one is if you want a deep, square trem, it knocks it out of the park. I wasn’t even really sure I needed or wanted one, I was just looking for something to give my sound some variety and maybe write some new music around so I started thinking tremolo. I wasn’t satisfied at first with what I bought, but I returned it and got this one and man, I love it. This one does both a round and a square trem, I can’t say much about the round because I don’t use it, but the square is fantastic and easy to dial in just the sound I’m looking for. I’ve gone from not even sure I want to trem to a regular sound used in my live sets all because of this pedal. Plus it’s a BOSS so you know it’s going to last forever. I love this pedal.

This is a superb tremolo pedal: [1] Its dials allow for enormous control of the effect. [2] It’s very sturdy–an often-noted feature of BOSS pedals. Further, [3] it’s utterly easy to use, [4] allows for both 9v battery and power supply/adapter operation, and, most important of all, [5] it delivers beautiful tremolo. (Note: It comes with a 9v battery installed, but it does NOT come with a power source/adapter.) If the price is more than you’re willing to pay, consider the DANELECTRO COOL CAT TREMOLO. This also delivers good tremolo, but it does not allow for as much sound-manipulation as the BOSS product; it’s still quite good, but the BOSS takes the prize. I paid about $75 for mine and have zero regrets.

No one else can do it better at this price than Boss can. The TR-2 has stood the test of time and works extremely well with other effects. Again, after a lot of use this pedal is what I always get back to if I want that classic clean blues/rock sound for clean tones with some reverb. You honestly cannot go wrong with this pedal.

No sabrรญa decirles. Es lo que tienen los clรกsicos.

Great tone. Wife loves it too. Lol

Great for subtle tremolo sounds. There are some wild and more pronounced ones in there but it takes a lot of fiddling to find those. I like extreme and weird sounds but also love finding new ways to use classic sounds. Tremolo has always been the one effect I overlook and this is my very first one (minus digital trem I had in an old multi effects unit and the built in tremolo of some of my amps). That said, I really appreciate this pedal and love the sound.
I think it has plenty of options. Sure you may have to do a lot of tweaking to find the more extreme sounds but theyโre still there and the classic sounds sound wonderful. It definitely does sound like vintage trem. It reminds me a lot of the vibrato setting that was in my old Roland JC-120.
This pedal is less expensive than most out there and the effect itself is awesome. This is a steal at under $90. Even under $100 itโs a great deal.
Iโve heard of issues with volume dropping when the unit turns on. This hasnโt been an issue for me at all. My level stays exactly the same when the pedal is on or off.
The rate and depth knobs get a lot of love but donโt neglect that wave knob. It can make a huge difference no matter where the other knobs are set.
Highly recommend.

This is a solid choice for any guitarist that wants to add tremolo to his pedal board or skip the Plug-ins in your studio DAW. I have had this pedal for a couple of years and have used Fender Amps with Tremolo in the past but the TR-2 is a must have for those classic sounds from Bang, Bang (Nancy Sinatra) to CCR, Gimmie Shelter, Pink Floyd, The Smiths, Audislave, Radiohead and on and on…

Added this to my pedalboard and immediately loved it. Tried my best to get the same sound on my Helix Floor but it just wasn’t doing it for me. Immediately broke into some “Like A Stone” and got the settings near perfect and it’s great.
Very easy to figure out and the new ones are much better, no sound dip delay like the older TR-2 pedals. Not sure exactly what Boss did but they’re now perfect!!!
The wave forms are good too. A lot of newer boutique pedals have all sorts of gobledy gook mixed into them, all I want is a basic sound and this definitely fits the bill at a very affordable price. Even better, like every Boss pedal, it’s built like a tank and will last you decades!

Item came as described. As I said on the title, such a classic tone. Great for indie, shoegaze and alt rock. Highly recommended.
