Compré este escáner hace casi dos meses por dos razones: la primera es que a veces veo clientes fuera de mi oficina y necesito copia de algunos documentos, y la segunda es que cuando trabajó desde casa y quiero escanear documentos tamaño oficio, no puedo porque el escáner que tengo es de cama plana y solo tamaño carta (es el del multifuncional).
Lo conecto a la MacBook Air que traigo para todos lados y funciona perfecto. Ahora ya no uso el escáner del multifuncional pues tendría que prenderlo, esperar a que se conecte a la red (es inalámbrico) y si estoy en otra habitación, ir al estudio, poner la hoja, etc.
Lo guardo en mi mochila junto con la computadora así que siempre está a la mano.
Yo solo lo uso para digitalizar documentos y la mayoría son texto o combinación de texto y fotos pero no necesito que sean a color por lo que los guardo en PDF en blanco y negro o a lo mucho en escala de grises. A veces necesito escanear escrituras de propiedad o contratos de 80 hojas tamaño oficio y lo he hecho sin ningún problema y bastante rápido considerando que estoy en un café o en casa. Tiene un mecanismo que “agarra” el borde de la hoja cuando la acercas al alimentador y cuando presionas el botón de “escanear” la hoja pasa derecha. Nunca ha arrugado una hoja, nunca se ha atorado ni ha fallado.
Supongo que no es la mejor opción para escanear fotos o imágenes a color en alta resolución pues para esos casos nada funciona tan bien como un escáner de cama plana pero para documentos, recibos, etc. este escáner hace excelente trabajo.
La principal ventaja comparado con otros de precio similar, es que se “abre” para limpiar él vidrio que protege a la lámpara (que es la que escanea) y limpiar los rodillos y el espacio por donde pasa la hoja. De esta forma te aseguras que va a funcionar bien todo el tiempo.
Hay una opción de la misma marca y un poco más cara que escanea por los dos lados de la hoja. Yo preferí este modelo porque no tengo tantos documentos de 2 caras y no me importa tardarme un poco en lo que son de 2 caras, además este es mas chico y pesa menos. Hay opciones con alimentador automático y otras prestaciones pero yo creo que si la necesidad de escanear es tanta, mejor invertir en un escáner profesional de cama plana con alimentador etc.
Este modelo hace una cosa y la hace muy bien, fácil y sin problemas.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT! We cannot say that enough. For anyone looking to scan documents, children’s artwork, photos and even ID’s and passports then this Brother Printer Document Scanner is for you!
We have scanned our entire four drawer file cabinet and our entire photo album all onto Micro SD cards all with the help and thanks to this little beautiful machine. And it was very easy to operate, set up, scan and so forth. You can choose to scan as a JPEG or PDF or a continuing PDF which is a really handy option. And the quality comes out better than the object you scanned in. As the pixel ratings can be set to your liking.
We highly recommend this product to anyone looking to scan documents, photos or the like for personal or business. We have easily scanned over 1000 items and have had no glitches or problems with this product. It is built like a Brother, as our Brother laser printer is still running strong and she’s over 10 years old now. Again, if you are shopping for small portable scanners look no where else. We compared them all before we bought and are beyond pleased we picked this Brother printer document scanner.

I like this little scanner. It’s compact, easy to use, creates a fairly good scan. I’ve had it since 2016 and now it’s not working so well. It keeps stopping partway through the scan, for no apparent reason. I’ve looked up the error message and it says something about the cable/connection being damaged but I just leave it plugged in on my desktop so I don’t know how that could have happened. It’s happening more and more often. Also, they changed the software within the last year and the scanning process is less intuitive than it was before – it wasn’t broke, why did they “fix” it?
All of that said, I will probably buy another one because it worked very well for the money while it lasted, and I don’t see another model at a competitive price.

I’ve scanned around 500 pages greyscale 300 dpi, with no issues. I tested 600 dpi colour and it looks good.
The only difficulty is getting a perfectly straight scan, you have to feed the page to the rollers very carefully to ensure that. The rollers auto-clamp after a one second delay, which is handy since otherwise the sheet might slide while you click Scan or whatever.
I wish it scanned 8.6″ instead of exactly 8.5″ as it’s tough to get a whole sheet to the edges, which is necessary in my case…

This is a great little scanner for the money. I read all the reviews and I have to say the reviews helped me to make my decision on this product. I am using this scanner at work. Our copier/scanner is so far away from my desk at work that I wanted a little scanner for when I only have to scan a few pages, to send in an email, etc. Because of our privacy settings at work, I had to have someone from our IT dept install the drivers so she was able to tell me how to use it. I can’t comment on how easy it would be for the novice to figure that out since she was able give me all the details in about a minute. This scanner will scan multiple pages, in one pdf doc. It also has options to select a file type when you scan. I’ve only used pdf so far.
One thing I will comment on when I first scanned, it looked as if each page took 30 seconds to complete however, that is NOT true. It does this countdown after each page, but if you just click cancel you will see your document has been uploaded. It’s also super FAST. I love the USB connection. The last thing I need is something else to plug in. I’m sure that most people buy this to use it on the road however, I love it for my PC at work.
The only thing it doesn’t do is 2 sided scanning however, you can just feed the document back thru using the multiple page scan option, so no biggie!
UPDATE:
I’ve used the heck out of this little scanner at work. I’ve dropped it I don’t know how many times (on carpet) and it’s still going strong. I mainly use it for 1-3 page scans. I’ve also used it to scan receipts. If you don’t mind the black surround you can scan up to 3 receipts at once depending on the size of the receipts. I used it to scan a gazillion receipts from Expense Reports. More than 1000 receipts have been scanned. When you scan receipts you have to feed the longest receipt on the far left of the machine. If you load a smaller receipt on the left then it stops scanning when that receipt pulls through the machine.
I have scanned a credit card, Driver’s License and a certificate that had a small cloth ribbon on it. I don’t want to scan credit cards any more because they are bumpy and I don’t want to ruin my scanner. I use it so much! I am actually ordering another scanner, as a back up. Since I keep dropping it on the ground I am getting nervous. I bet I’ve dropped it at least 10 times, maybe more. It also works great on photos!

Me gustó mucho. Lo conecté a mi mac y tuve que bajar el software de la pagina de brother, pues mi compu ya no tiene entrada para ponerle el dvd que trae. Una vez instalado, tuve que darle permiso de ejecutarse a la aplicación en los privacy settings de la mac. Después de eso, ya lo pude usar. Es muy sencillo escanear y la calidad es bastante buena. Además, por el tipo de diseño del escaner, se pueden escanear documentos oficio sin problemas. Recomendado!
