Seems solid and looks really nice – low profile. Hope it does the job.
Update: 5 months later this thing is going strong. Been on many a road trip and through many car washes – still stuck on like the day I got it.

This Bushwacker Hood Guard is nice. Not the Lexan ‘smoke’ type, but black textured hard plastic that perfectly matches the front fenders on the Jeep JK. Prety simple to install as long as you take your time. Clean the area where the 3M tape is going to stick with 90% Isopropyl Alcohol, Denatured Alcohol, or the supplied alcohol wipes. Test fit the hood guard and mark the center and ends with blue painters’ tape, so you know where to line up the hood guard once you remove the red tape backing. Just get the tape backing stared to expose a little bit of the sticky side. Once you get the hood guard where you want it, press down to hold it in place then remove the rest of the red backing and press down firmly. Easy peasy.

The product is a quality piece, matching (in my case) the factory exterior trim of my 2009 Jeep Wrangler. NOTE: although Amazon lists this product as not fitting 2009, it does indeed fit 2007 – 2018. The difference in factory numbers is related to the difference between just the hood guard, or the combo hood and tailgate guard.
Mine was well-packaged, I suppose and included cushioning bubble wrap – although I think this thing is fairly indestructible. You will find several warning labels indicating that you should first read the instructions. True story. Here is where it goes south…
If you watch several YouTube instructional videos, as did I, you should be prepared to do what would be a simple installation. BUT (and it is a big but), Bushwacker’s engineering department has recently decided to change a few crucial things with it’s 3M tape – namely, you don’t have extra guide tape to pull – and can no longer insure exact placement. Nope, and the adhesive is now divided into several spots along the front, rear, and sides. Now you have to remove it all, cross your fingers, and hope you get it right.
I called Bushwacker, and got a response on the 3rd ring. I was transferred to tech support (good on them for the quick response). However, my tech had no answers for me, and couldn’t (or wouldn’t) allow me to speak with anyone in engineering that might be of assistance. I did successfully install it. It does hang ever so slightly over the right and left sides of the hood – but was assured it was supposed to do that. It looks damn-good.
My suggestion – while it shouldn’t take two people to do this simple install, you would be better off – because having the second set of hands will lessen the likelihood of screwing it up. Would I order from them again? Yea. But, it’s time to hold companies accountable for shipping altered merch and incorrect instructions. That is just crap, and they need to be called out on it.

Looks awesome. Exactly what I needed to cover a ding and rock chips in my hood. My only complaint is the burs I had to shave off before installing. Not a big deal, but quality control should have caught this. Definitely recommend!

Line it up carefully to check for fit before peeling the adhesive strip covers off. That will take a bit of doing and I used a razor blade to get under them at the corners. It’s on the hood even enough (I is not a profeshunul). I let it sit for 24 hours before driving, which is probably overkill, but it’s on there solid and looks great.

Matches other trim color and texture perfectly. It’s thick and rugged. I used a heat gun to warm the tape before applying to the hood, and it’s held on flawlessly; even in negative temps.
