I had not used a Case knife until a few weeks ago in Mississippi when a contractor friend of mine handed me his Case Leather Hunter so I could gut a fish. I was amazed at how easily it cut through that catfish, cleanly and effortlessly. Immediately, I began a search for a Case of my very own. Apparently, within many hunting circles in Mississippi (and elsewhere I imagine), Case knives are the one and only option. There is no other choice for a true hunter or woodsman, they told me repeatedly. The Twin Finn set was recommended to me over and over again, some of the other hunters with us showing me Stag Twin Finn Piggy sets that they had used for decades and claimed that the blades had never once failed them in any way. I’ve had mine for just a week but am extremely happy with this purchase. Right out of the box, they were sharp enough to shave stubble off of my cheeks (seriously, it worked and better than most razors). Both blades just feel right in weight, size and length. As a hunter and outdoors enthusiast, I highly recommend this set. The 5″ will make short work of large game and the 3″ has the high versatility that comes with any small blade, being handy for almost anything. As a contractor and seasoned construction laborer, I can attest to the fact that they outperform all heavy duty work blades i’ve personally owned, even when used outside of their intended area of purpose. Good blades all around but they truly excel in the hands of a hunter or woodsman! A truly great buy!

I have owned case in the past and been very happy with their knives I still carry and use the ax-knife combo while hunting. I bought this set on impulse and can say its definitely in the top 5 best impulse buys of all time. The little knife that they describe as a fishing knife has a cute factor of 100 and it works good too. I used the little knife quite a bit while out hunting to do little jobs like cut a piece of rope or cheese even dug a sliver out with it. The larger knife made quick work of an elk and kept its razor edge the entire time without stopping to sharpen it. The leather sheath feels like good quality leather and looks awesome. The best thing about these knives is that like all case knives they’re made right here in the good ol’ U.S. of A.

These knives are pretty decent. A friend and i cleaned, skinned, and quartered a deer with just the small knife and a saw for the bone. Came with a decent factory edge. I’m sure it can be made much better with a little work on the stone.

I received this knife set today which, was a week early. I guess they slipped through the messed up USPS delivery system.
The knives and sheath are perfect. No scratches or blemishes. Although, they were not very sharp, but thats easily remedied. These are users, not collectors.
All in all, I’m happy with the knives and can’t wait to try them in the field.

I really, really, almost gave these 5 stars, but I couldn’t bring myself to do it. Great knives, nice steel and great-looking handles. Everything is nicely polished and the sheath does not feel cheap or flimsy at all. My only complaint was that they didn’t come sharp, at all. In fact there was a huge burr on the larger blade that I had to stone and strop off to get an edge on the knife, was extremely disappointed that I paid $90+ for two knives that I had to sharpen out of the box, not so great on QC there, Case. 5-star knives with a 4-star rating because of this overlooked detail.
UPDATE: 5 Stars now because I was sent a replacement set to make up for this issue. New knives came in perfect condition, able to effortlessly slice through a manilla folder with no tearing, just a smooth cut. Very happy with the new set, put the sheath on my shop apron and have been regularly subjecting both blades to daily abuse.
