I bought this watch to use while camping. It looks great, it’s durable, and it’s useful. My one gripe with it is that the compass needs calibration before you can use it, and the temperature sensor needs for the watch to be off your arm to calibrate and measure the correct temperature (between 15 and 20 minutes of sitting in ambient temperature before it can properly measure the temp). Other than those two issues, it’s a great watch, and perfect for anyone looking for a low cost and durable wristwatch.

The watch is decent quality and was a good price. My issue is with the instructions- there are so many features with this watch which are to like. Compass (haven’t figured out how to use that or calibrate it yet, hope I don’tget lost in the garage today) and the temperature feature. The light could be brighter. There is something about being the person lighting up a dark movie theater with your watch light that makes a guy chuckle. The watch band is my only issue, it can feel uncomfortable after a bit. It does what it’s supposed to do, give accurate time.

The good: nice and sleek looking negative display, good size, comfortable, good quality wristband, adequate illumination(but only in dark environment), water resistant, good basic features for digital watch (time, stopwatch, multiple alarms, world clock, calendar, countdown timer), compass and temp convenience features, comprehensive, we’ll written manual even with the tiny lettering.
The meh: display is very hard to see in low light (like in the shade or at twilight), light stays on for only one second when pressed and then the illumination isn’t bright enough because it’s not dark enough, compass and temperature required calibration several times, sensor is very slow and accuracy improves when you are in the same place for a while as it stabilizes. You need to continue refreshing the temp/mode every 10 seconds. The timer displays hours, minutes and seconds, but you can only set the timer to the nearest minute. I need to be able to set it to the second, so not good enough. The beeper is not loud enough so I have trouble hearing it. If you have tinitus like me, it’s an issue.

Perfect size and functionality. Very comfortable, not heavy, and it looks great! Not too large, not too small. This isn’t a Pro Trek, but at $40ish, this is an absolute steal, and pretty darn close! Very easy to adjust settings and switching between functions is super easy. I have yet to try the compass or temp, but, it IS a Casio, so I’m pretty confident in it’s accuracy.
2 month+ Update: I have set the compass and temp. Options work very very well. For temp, you have to remove the watch from your arm as to not co fuse it with your body temp. The compass is surpringly accurate given it’s digital, packed in a $45 watch, and reads quickly. The watch is perfect for camping, hiking, bad weather, etc. You’ll be much happier with this than you possibly anticipated.
