Nice and smart looking blue and white design, the size is ideal for simple daily calculations. However, the major flaw is the flimsy display that is made out of very thin plastic. It gives if you just gently pressing on it. Uh, the awkward case is cracked on the arrival.

There is very little information on how this calculator works. The manual describes how to set the tax rate as well as how to do time calculations. However, when I do the calculation 10 + 20% (not using the tax key) the answer shown is: 12.5, but it should be 12. I have even set the tax rate to zero. When the % button is used, it should work exactly as the % button works on all other calculators. It should have no relation to the tax button, with the exception of holding the button down for a few seconds to set the tax rate that’s only applicable to the tax button. I don’t understand how it’s coming up with 12.5. I have multiple calculators with the % key and they all show 12, including my phone and Windows 10 computer.
Update: I figured out what the % button is doing. It applies a “markup” to the value. This is not the same as some other calculators % key.
With regular calculators, the add based on the percentage of the number you are adding to:
12 + 20% = 14.40 This is arrived at by doing 12 * .2 = 2.40 + 12 = 14.40
But this calculator instead does a “mark up” of the number which works like this:
Say you have an item that you want to sell for $12. But you want to list it as 20% off the regular price.
With this calculator you do: press AC then 12 + 20, press % key = 15.00.
We can check our work by doing: press AC then 15 x .2 = 3 and 15 – 3 is 12.
The % key on this calculator should be marked MU instead %. But since this key has two functions,
1 to set the tax rate, and the other to find a markup, they just left it %. The manual does not indicate that the
% sign functions as a markup.
This is a great calculator for calculating the tax for you so you will know what the total cost will be.

this calculator is very good . it is a nice size and it can fit anywhere which is great for school 🙂 it also came with a case however i don’t think ill use bc of the quality but overall it’s a great calculator 🩷

I love that the size is small and compact but the display is large enough for me to read without glasses. The buttons are a good size for my fingers, it comes with a handy closeable cover, and it comes in great colors to brighten up my desk!

I love this little calculator. Pink is my favorite color so thats a plus. It works really great. I love the little folder it comes in. It not hard but dose the job. I keep this in my book bag. Easy and great to have on hand since it is small. I use it for nusing school and It has not failed me.

Overall, very happy with this calculator, it is great for conducting basic computation like monthly budgets and daily expenses, or woodworking projects where I am often calculating distances and degrees of cuts. The Casio SL-300VC is designed with it’s users in mind. It uses a nice, vibrant color scheme on a calculator that is comfortable to hold in your hand. It also comes with a bonus carrying case and a limited warranty. The case is a little snug initially, but I imagine it will stretch, and it is also providing a protective layer to make this calculator transport safely. While I have not had the time to test it’s battery life, from what I’ve read this thing lasts forever, because it’s powered by both a regular battery and a solar cell. Glad to have this calculator around, will make my daily math much more efficient!

I bought this for work. This pocket calculator is highly recommended. The numbers are big enough that you don’t have a problem reading. If you mistakenly type the wrong number, you can delete the number that’s error. You don’t need to delete it all. There’s also the -/+ that make it easier to compute. You can save numbers also. It comes with instruction how to use it. It’s a 2 way power (solar energy). It has a cover to prevent from getting dirt.. Perfect size for the pocket.
