I have 2 bows: a pernambuco and a cartoon fiber.
the most noticeable in term of sound production was with the carbon fiber bow.
it also helped with the pernambuco bow to produce and loud and rounder sound.
I am an intermediate player but I can recommend this rosin compared to Pirastro gold flex that I liked until then best and to Pirastro Oliv.
I hope that it will help someone else…
My strings are cjd :Larsen

This is the first time I have used this rosin and I can honestly tell you that I LOVE it. The grab that I get without having a sticky feeling is outstanding. The rosin just creates enough friction to grab the string but still allow it to glide to make a beautiful, warm note. I believe it is worth every penny. I have spent a lot less money on cheaper rosins but I have been missing out. Sornd the extra few dollars to get a good rosin and it will pay you back in the sound alone.
Sean Samuels –
Itโs the best rosin available on the market.

I purchased this rosin based upon all of the “rave professional reviews” I kept seeing. “Important” cellists and cello experts couldn’t stop giving it gushing reviews it seemed.
I spent the $45 and… and never saw any benefit. Worse yet, it fell to the floor, with the lid on, the lid cracked and the rosin fractured. We still hadn’t come to a conclusion on the rosin at that point so we foolishly bought another one – luckily it was and still is on sale for $35.
It really isn’t a very good rosin. And that spreader thing, that’s a waste. Maybe this rosin is great for violins.
Honestly the dark cello rosin we were using that is under $20 is better.

I can really recommend this violin rosin! It is such a nice difference! I play both the violin and the cello, and I will definitely buy the Cecilia Cello rosin, too.

the rosin was broke off the base when I received it other then that it is a great rosin

Just buy it!! I have played over 30 years and this rosin is the best Iโve ever used. It helps so much with my projection. Love it!!
Mark –
I’ve been playing cello for 1 year and wanted to upgrade my rosin. This stuff is way higher quality than what I’ve been using and the sound is beautiful. Also, the little clear case and the rosin itself looks nice compared to the cracked stuff that usually comes free with an instrument.

It’s like butter. Get it!

Kind of pricey compared to other brands, but after reading blogs from violin string companies, they consider this to be the best rosin for Violin bows. It will last forever so the price is not that big of a deal.
Hunter Blakely –
Good grip, quality sound, and clean. The case is a perfect size, and the hair cleaner is a bonus.
I have a few kinds of rosin, and Iโd say this just may be my favorite. It feels almost like a mid-point between Larica Gold 1 and 2.
Worth it

The CECILIA โSOLOโ Rosin for Violin, specifically formulated for violin bows, comes in a convenient MINI (Half Cake) size. While it enhances the bowโs grip, I find it to be a bit inconsistent in performance across various playing styles. It might take a few applications to achieve the desired result. However, the compact size is handy for on-the-go use. Overall, a decent rosin with room for improvement.
