So I just literally took this flute out of the box, right now. Out of the box, it sounds great. I’m not having trouble producing notes, it doesn’t feel like there are any leaks, and it sounds great (to me). Is this the best flute ever? No. Do I want a professional-grade flute? No.
Do I just want to sit around at home and play some music from time to time? Yes. And this flute is more than good for that, from what I’ve experienced so far. The price was perfect, as well, and so far I’m happy.
Time will tell whether my review changes. I bought a piccolo recently and went back to change the rating after I had played it for a few months, so we’ll see how this flute is doing a few months down the road.
Right now, do I suggest buying it? Yes. Absolutely.
1-month Update: I still like this flute. Seriously. Buy it for your band kid.
8-month Update: This flute is still kicking. I don’t play it daily, but it’s held up to some abuse and still sounds fantastic. BUY IT.
15-month Update: Still amazing. If you’re still on the fence this long, make up your mind already.
3-year update: Why are you even still reading this? Still amazing.

My daughter has has this flute for 3 years now and even though it’s not the best, it’s not that bad. She has been using it all through middle school. It’s a little quirky at first but after you get the hang of it, it’s fine. Some keys you have to press a little harder than others and some notes need more air but it lasted 3 years and it wasn’t $1000 like the music store tried to get us to buy. DO NOT LET IT GET WET! Just a few weeks ago it was pouring down rain as she walked home from the bus stop and her case got wet (not water proof at all) and her flute has been messed up. Pads are bad and the sound is off. So I’m about to purchase this flute again for her high school years

Pretty great for the price. I’m teaching myself flute and so far so good. I bought the open hole flute(allergic to nickel so cant get the closed hole) with the intention of just buying plugs for the holes but it actually came with the plugs already. That was a nice surprise. Sure, this instrument won’t last forever but for the price it’s worth it just to start out on and see if you actually like it enough to fork out the money for a professional one.
I do love that it comes with everything you could possibly need (besides cork grease. Dont use that.) Even a really nice little stand qnd case. It even comes with a tiny booklet that has some songs and all the positions for the notes. Well worth the money

It feels really good in my hands but I don’t think it’s a leaking issue. It is much easier to play the closed hole one than this one. The close hole ones make really good solid sounds while this one needs more technique I think. Use the hole plugs. My hands are too small so hole plugs really help me. I plug my right hand because I can’t really reach the foot joint. But yes! It’s really good

I wanted to buy a flute for a long time but the high prices were a problem for me. This type of intruments are a saver for people like me that want to try the instrument to see if it’s for you or not without paying a lot.
The flute come in a nice case with a lot of accessories including a little music but with tunes and fingers which is nice. The quality of the flute is nice and the keys fill well made and move easily. Mine didn’t have any leaks in the key but it can not be the case for everyone but a least is an easy fix.
Small problem that I had was that I needed to use the cork grease even though a lot of professional say you should not, but it was necessary because I couldn’t put the flute together without the cork grease. It sounds nice but I can’t talk to much about it because it is literally my first time putting my hands on a flute
100% recommended.

It is a great instrument for the money. The tone is clear and the keys work with little or no effort.

I’m delighted with this flute, the sound is excellent for the price. I interacted with this company’s customer service and I found them very polite and helpful. I have no complaints!

The Cecilio open hole C-foot is an outstanding value for a mass-produced flute. Tones responsive and clear from c1 to Bb3; high notes b3 and above are unreliable. Surprising pianississimo (very, very soft) to strong fortissimo. Lacks the heft and sturdy feel of other name-brand introductory flutes, possibly due to use of thinner spec materials. Silver plating is quite good; small wrinkles noted on the key Y-arms, but only under close inspection. Interior bore is polished. Joint tenons and sockets a bit gritty out-of-the-box, but a little rubbing with a silver polishing cloth nicely smooths out the feel. Head joint cork required placement adjustment; a simple, basic task.
