Bought this as a Christmas gift for my son, who plays several instruments and wanted to try violin. Knew it wasn’t super expensive, so didn’t expect too much. But it is a beautiful instrument! Beautifully made and finished, and the case with custom foam cutouts is an unexpected bonus. It is perfect for him as a beginner player, and looks like it will probably last him a good long time.

Read if this if it’s your first time buying a voilin or serious about learning.
First of all, I did the extensive amount of research to save you guys some time. Please don’t buy beginner bundles! You want quality not quantity!…Anyways, this voilin is the best cheapest beginner voilin. Purchase this & a set of “D’Addario Prelude Violin String Set” $16.00 Yea i know its pricey for a set of strings. But it’s still cheaper than $500 that’s for sure. There is no point in buying this voilin by itself , I guarantee you the strings will be broken straight out the box or within 2 hours. You can make do with the Stock bow & cheap rosin it comes with…if you wanna go all out you can purchase a good $20 bow & rosin (do your research on which kind)…..The case it comes with is black, and the inside is a velvet beige. It has a small key to open & close. One thing you can’t avoid, comes with ALL voilin is that you have to fix your pegs! Since it’s wood, the climate changes the shape of the pegs overtime, but don’t worry, my bf managed to fix it himself in 2 min with tutorials online. Now this was a gift for him, so I had to make sure it was good because he is really picky. He puts time into reading “how to learn voilin” books. He’s reading about all the components…he downloaded free books of the web….so no need to buy all that….& yes you need to study for hours, what a shocker…It’s been a week & he played me “happy bday” & it’s not even my day. So I’m a happy customer… ๐

There isn’t anything to dislike regarding this violin. I mean it’s not an Amati ($600,000.00) or a Stradivarious (10 to 20 million) but for a hundred bucks it can’t be beat! I’m serious. Eventually, you may want a better shoulder rest and a better bow but for a beginner this violin set will do. And I really like the case and the inside coverings. What a beautiful looking violin. I love the finish which has a darker, deeper brownish hue. You will be happy and proud to show and play this violin either alone or in an orchestra. This is the one to buy. You won’t regret it. And this violin comes with 4-fine tuners! Oh, and when you do buy this violin, get an extra set of strings. You never know about that thin ‘E’ string! :)~

This a great instrument for the price. let me just start by telling you that i play clawhammer banjo, mandolin, a bit of guitar and bass and most recently I decided to learn to play old-time fiddle as i don’t know any fiddlers to accompany me on my banjo and i would like to record an album. I did a good deal of research for a violin with decent specs and this is the one i chose. I chose it because it is made of good woods (spruce top, maple back and sides) it’s also ebony fitted which means that the fretboard, tailpiece, tuners, chin rest are all made of beautiful ebony. you don’t want an instrument that’s made out of cardboard (composite wood) and plastic, so watch out for that. This violin actually has comparable specs to that of much more expensive violins. My new fiddle arrived in just 4 days looking every bit as nice as it does in the pictures and sounding even better! It tuned right up for me and holds it’s tune well. the bow and case are decent, however i did have to break the lock on the case to get in as the mechanism had failed. overall this violin will suit my old-time fiddling needs for years to come and i’m very happy with my purchase. If you’re looking for a decent fiddle this is a pretty good place to start. I also highly recommend Wayne Erbsens book titled “old-time fiddle for the complete ignoramus”. if you’re interested in learning old-time fiddle.

Perfect for a beginner, though I would take it to get looked at by a luthier before trying to play it seriously. The strings that came with it were really meh and the bridge wasn’t at the right angle when I opened up the case for the first time, but that was expected considering it was a cheap violin shipped through USPS. My teacher loves its sound, it’s very bright, and stays in tune very well with the nicer strings on it. It’s also a beautiful color, and the case is much sturdier than I thought it would be. I might end up getting a nicer bow, but for what it is the one that came with it is okay to start with. All in all, I would recommend this one for a beginner.

I had to reorder the Violin. The bow was swisted in the first order. The replacement arrived within two weeks of reordering. The Violin appears to be well made and very good for a beginner as an introductory Violin. The bow and strings are at a beginner level. The case is also very well made. Overall this is a very good purchace.

I have been a pianist for many years and I always wanted to play the violin. I wanted something to start out with that wasn’t to expensive but still good in quality. I came across this one and I decided to take a chance on it and I was a little bit disappointed to say the least. I received the violin and the color is actually a little bit lighter in person which I don’t mind but still it’s not the color in the advertised photo. The strings are what caught my eye the most as they are very low grade quality. I went to tune the strings and SNAP one broke, I barely touched the tuning knob and a string just snapped. I took the violin to my local music shop and he told me this violin is very cheaply made but said what he could do is put some high quality strings on the violin and it will sound as good as a high quality violin. The strings weren’t cheap but I agreed to do so and I’m glad I did because the violin has a nice rich sound to it now. I’m going to get a new bow next because that is also of low grade quality. All in all this product is for beginners and you defiantly get what you pay for.

I am a beginner and have only had it for a few days, but so far I am fully satisfied with my purchase. I looks beautiful and sounds great. It comes with everything listed. For the most part it was in tune. I had to tighten the strings a bit (which is expected and easy to do with the fine tuners), but other than that is already set up and ready to play. The rosin does a great job with the bow as well. I am not a fan of the shoulder rest that it came with, but being a beginner I may not have it properly adjusted. I honestly didn’t mess with it for too long, because I was excited to actually play. I just decided to not use the shoulder rest, which it is still comfortable without it, so no loss there. It isn’t mentioned anywhere in the description, but the case comes with a key so you can lock it. That isn’t a major deal, but for those that have small children running around it could come in handy to prevent anyone from handling the violin without permission and possibly damaging it. This was a great buy and I am in no way disappointed.

I absolutely love this violin. This is my 3rd attempt at finding the right beginner violin. The moment I opened the case, I knew that it was going to be the one. It comes with the bridge already in place and the strings were pretty close to being in tune (and they were ACTUALLY tuneable). I had a big problem with other violin’s tuning pegs not being usable. The case is amazing, the bow is actually good quality, and the violin itself is absolutely gorgeous. I have always like the darker tones. The only thing that I am not a huge fan of is the shoulder rest that came with it, but I already had another one, so it was no big deal. I would definitely recommend this violin for those that want an inexpensive beginner violin.
