Donna H Duhig –
Christmas at Fireside Cabins is a lovely, feel good and easy read romance fiction. It begins with a group of four female friends planning the perfect and magical festive holiday together. For the main character, Lila, Christmas with her friends means everything to her, especially after the loss and heartache she had to endure earlier in the year. Her friends are all she has, but it is clear that their lives are changing, they are moving on and this holiday would be their last. It is Lila’s priority to make sure it’s perfect for everyone.Â
  Â
On arrival, the town was not as they expected, and other obstacles soon come in their way, and Lila soon realises this may not be the Christmas escape she had in mind. Lila remains uplifted and positive, even when things do not go to plan. She allows nothing to get in the way of celebrating Christmas, and her enthusiasm soon washes off on those she meets. This holiday opens a new door for her, and one that could change her life for the better, is she willing to take that risk?
Lila and her friends coped with a crisis too well, and I felt it was almost unbelievable, giving it more of a fairytale Christmas feel to the story. However, there was nothing wrong with that positively happy touch to the tale. What a lovely world we would live in if everyone was as sweet-natured and kind-hearted as Lila, who embellished the joy of Christmas and never gave up on those who had lost that sparkle. It is her attitude that makes the book an enjoyable read and how she influenced and changed those around her. I was pleasantly surprised in parts as the story did not flow as I first anticipated.Â
  Â
Hale’s beautiful use of description conjures up a clear image of the town that I was absorbed into the story as though I was there. I recommend the book to anyone wanting to read something feel-good and Christmassy for the coming months.Â

What a fabulous heart warming Christmas story. It was a book I just couldn’t put down. Absolutely loved it.

It was a fun and good paced book. A little mystery, good friends and some funny bits. A nice way to spend a few hours escaping the stress of life.
My first Jenny Hale book, but definitely not my last.
Read-Love-Review Blog –
Lila is meeting friends at a coffee shop, indulging in a peppermint latte, and showing off a special surprise. She and her group of girlfriends live in Nashville, Tennessee. Charlotte, Piper, and Edie are an intriguing bunch of women who mesh perfectly together. They have known each so long they act like family. She is hopeful for one last holiday with her friends before they go their separate ways, so she books a cabin in the mountains for them to celebrate.
So far, the town and the cabins are different from what they were expecting, and so starts their Christmas adventure. Theo, the barista, maybe the owner, not sure at the coffee shop, is somewhat grumpy. These four women seem to catch trouble wherever they go, and Lila catches the attention of a flannel-wearing coffee shop grump. The book is very festive as they spread Christmas cheer wherever they go.
With a few work calls and disaster, life gets in the way, bringing Lila closer to what she is looking for. The author did a great job with the holiday vibes and wintery feels; that chocolate shop was just dreamy. I love that Lila has to fight to get Theo, the grim coffee owner, to open up to her, but with each surprising moment, we see a different side of this man. This book gets steamy after their first date.
This book takes a turn I wasn’t expecting for a heartwarming romance. I’m curious how it can be romantic when one character disappears willingly. As the truth emerges and the issues are tackled, we get a rare look at a troubled man. However, I like that he finally decided to tackle what he was running from, which turns this story back to sweet and heartwarming. These pages have a lot of love and support and a life lesson. This story ends sweet and unexpected, but I love the tale of the location as much as the people.

Lori –
I’ve been reading Jenny Hale for almost 3 years now, exactly! Her books are perfect for when you just need a lift. There’s always a sweet love story, yet there’s always enough drama to keep it real – and keep you reading!!
With this book, we had no idea what Theo was hiding or running away from as Lila had a hard time getting him to even be nice to her when they first met in his coffee shop when she and her friends stopped there on the first day of their vacation!
This is funny – with these winter books – I find I actually FEEL cold as I’m reading some of the scenes outside! So you know I am into it when I’m reading! Also, Jenny loves to mention various foods and drinks that make me want to try them! Another fun part of her novels!
Never hesitate to pick up a Jenny Hale book. It’s often just what you need! I know this review might be talking more about Jenny herself than this book, but there are many other reviews that will give you more details on this book. I did enjoy it even though Theo got on my nerves with his stoic manner at first!! Lila was a sweetheart and I’m betting we’d all love to have her as a friend! She does not give up on her friends, and the ending will make you go ahhhhhhh yes!!!!!

Absolutely loved this book . I know they say all endings are the same but this had everything in it, drama, love, and family. Could totally read it again.

Every year at Christmas, Lila and three friends take a wonderful vacation. They have been some terrific and glamorous places. This year because of conflicting schedules, they must take the vacation before Christmas.
They end up going to a small village in the Tennessee mountains. They will stay at a lodge that is lovely in the online pictures. In real life, not so much.
The owner of the lodge is Eleanor. She is a widow and repairs and costs of upkeep have simply gotten away from her. But, she feels caught. This is a place that she and her late husband cared for together.
The women also meet a barista in a small coffee shop. He is not friendly at all. But, he is handsome and has wonderful blue eyes. His name is Theo and the coffee shop is named Coffee.
Lila and her friends would like to help Eleanor, but all the women can think of is to provide some beautiful Christmas decorations.
Then Lila’s three friends all have to leave because of job commitments. Lila decides to stay and try to help Eleanor.
I am a huge fan of Christmas stories. I have everything from old Signet paperbacks to many new ones on my Kindle.
On the surface, this has a great premise. But, there are so many problems. The deep dark secrets in Theo’s life are very convoluted. I read pages over several times and still could not become comfortable and understand what was written.
And things just happen to fall into place. Many things. Much falling.
Lila is a fixer and a people pleaser. But, she also is too impetuous and makes promises some others will have to make come true.
Theo is a brooding hero. Did I say he has beautiful blue eyes? When things get tough, Theo gets going.
The plot of the story should basically be a good one. But, there are too many coincidences and too many conveniently amazing solutions to problems.
I liked Lila and Theo. I loved the little 5 year old boy, Rusty. In fact, all the characters were charming. But, I was disappointed here.
I am giving 3 points because the writing is lovely. I could picture the snow, I was just glad I was not in it.

Lila Evans lost her father and now she’s alone at Christmas except for her three friends that she hangs out with. This holiday season they are going to stay in Pinewood Hills at a resort she found online. Before they check in, they stop to get coffee and she gets a frosty welcome from the owner, Theo Perry. Unfortunately, the cabins do not quite measure up despite the warm heart of the owner who has lost her husband. First impressions are not always correct as Lila discovers. Both Lila and Theo have issues that need to be worked out. This was a perfect holiday read for me!
