This book pulls you right in from the beginning. The author weaves together anecdotes, leadership lessons, and research in way that shows how essential it is for leaders to coach. It’s not like other leadership books in that every point is backed by a personal story, and I like the 4C+ model that Chaudhary uses. It’s jargon-free (hard to find in business books, in my opinion), and I could feel her passion throughout the pages.
Highly recommend!

Ruchira Chaudhary elegantly threads power story telling with hard data backed by thorough research to break down how coaching is essential to Leadership. I really enjoyed her personal anecdotes (including those related to the Chicago Booth Executive MBA program, also my alma mater) and firsthand interviews with business executives that make her concepts come to life. The book is packed with so many powerful nuggets of wisdom and structured frameworks that the reader will be able to continue to refer to again and again. The author also brings a refreshing international perspective to leadership, which is especially important in our increasingly global business environment. Well done, Ruchira!

Coaching has become a buzzword in corporate circles. Yet, when I ask people what it entails, nobody is able to give me a clear definition of what coaching is, or how you go about doing it effectively. However, everyone does agree that it is important for leaders today to have coaching skills, and for employees to have access to it.
This is what I love about Ruchiraโs book. She does not offer a thirty-thousand-foot view or merely pontificate on the benefits of coaching, but rolls up her sleeves and uses real-world analogies and her own personal experiences to bring to life the what, how and why of coaching.
She arms her readers with toolkits, checklists and proprietary techniques she has developed to help us evolve into leader coaches. A must read for anyone who wants to be a more empathetic and effective leader.

I highly recommend Ruchira Chaudhary’s wonderful book for those who want to grow from being a manager to a leader, or from being a good leader to great one!
The author backs the principles of coaching with extensive research, interviews and surveys. She uses relatable examples and keeps the book jargon free (a great plus for business books!) Her examples demonstrate both what lack of coaching in leadership can lead to and what positive impact it can have.
Ruchira also taps into her extensive leadership and coaching experience and fills the book with anecdotes, examples and frameworks which makes it interesting for even the most casual of readers.
This book should be a must have on your 2021 list of business books!

Are coaching and leadership related?
In Coaching: The Secret Code to Uncommon Leadership, author @ruchira.chaudhary shows us that not only are they related, but that coaching is essential to effective leadership.
This book lucidly illustrates how a leader can bring out the very best in people by coaching them, and how coaching can unleash creativity as well as innovation while inspiring teams to play to their potential. It also examines how coaching helps leaders maintain a fine balance between managing and guiding, and between appraising and supporting their teammates.
Businesses are facing a new reality, characterized by a volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous world. This new reality has forced organizations to depart from conventional command-and-control practices to a completely new model – a model in which leaders support and guide, rather than instruct and control, their team members.

This book is a crisp and succinct guide to exceptional leadership. It presents a compelling argument for the leader as a coach and how that is not only a path towards an unusual leadership but a necessary imperative in todayโs world. The sport analogies provided are interesting as well as convincing and all the steps are very well documented, easy to understand and easily applicable. Overall I highly recommend this book to not only the novice manger but also to a well seasoned executive Read on!

This book attracted me with its fresh perspective on leadership, offering practical insights and strategies that go beyond conventional approaches. The focus on coaching as a key element of successful leadership resonated with my own journey in mindfulness and education, where fostering growth and empowering others is essential. The bookโs emphasis on authenticity, emotional intelligence, and unlocking potential truly spoke to me, aligning with my values and inspiring me to further develop my leadership skills.

Amazing analysis and practical application of how to build one’s true leadership capability and become a successful mission. Leadership isn’t just about command and control – and Ruchira successfully highlights the hidden sauce – with a more connected world, more connected society, the need to motivate, the need to coach and the need to grow leaders within your teams and your organizations. She highlights the need to empower others to be successful and provides amazing methodologies and frameworks that can be used and reused (actually in the book!). It isn’t just a theoretical abstract book on leadership but an actual implementation guide on how to be a leader. A must reading for all aspiring and current leaders!

Ruchira has written an insightful and lucid guide on leadership – a book so relevant in our turbulent times. She builds a powerful case for how a good leader also needs to be a coach that elevates others. The book is filled with practical examples, case studies, research and tips & tricks to get anyone started on this “leader as a coach” journey.
My favorite part of the book – how to apply the frameworks in different situations. The chapter on enabling and coaching women is a real winner.
A book not to be missed!
