 Love this so much I bought one for my brother for Christmas after I bought mine about a month ago because I needed one with a red light. This has the red light and the green light plus a super bright concentration beam and a super bright wide beam, which you can also use together. Definitely brighter than any of the other headlamps that I’ve had in the past and I’ve had a ton lol. Definitely would recommend to anyone! you can also get an additional battery pack for the back which I haven’t because it’s rechargeable and I haven’t used it for anything other than hiking or hunting yet so I’m able to charge it within the same day. Adjustable band and is very comfortable with or without a hat.

Coast hasn’t let me down with any of their flashlights. I have 5 or 6 and they’re all made well and work consistently.
This headlight is not exception. White light is very bright and simple to adjust the brightness, even when wearing gloves. Red and green lights are plenty bright for walking to your hunt area.
I was concerned the battery box on the back would be uncomfortable. But I don’t even notice it when wearing the headlight.

While this seems to be more marketed towards runners and cyclists with the rear light (which can be on solid or blink high/low), I got this for hunting and I love it. The white spot or flood lights are easy to use and adjust– there aren’t 17 modes to click through before you get to the mode you want– and the dimmer wheel is simple to use without thinking. You can get a light dim enough to see well in front of you without blinding others or turn on both white lights and crank up the brightness to see what that noise was 50 yards away.
In addition, the red and green lights are great for hiking in (non-white lights tend to disturb animals less and also not ruin your night vision for when you turn off the lights) as well as blood trailing when you’re flipping between colors to try and get a glimpse of what you missed.
For my uses, the rear light isn’t all that needed, though I do use it when walking the dog at night. Luckily the rear light can be used independent of the front light– so I generally just leave it off.
Finally, the battery is plenty bright to last a few long nights and is USB-C rechargable– which I always have some power packs and a USB-C cable on hand to charge my phone, so I don’t need to carry an extra charger. The band is super grippy and doesn’t slip, but also stays in place without having to really cinch it down and make it tight. This light is heavier and a little bulkier than my other lights, but spreading out the weight (about half in front, half in the rear light) makes the overall weight less noticeable.
Overall, I really have no complaints. It works great, is bright, easy to use, easy to adjust, fairly comfortable, lasts a long time onthe medium and low settings, and has a bettery indicator so I know when to charge it. It’s a well made, well designed head lamp.

Super easy to use headlamp with the ability to independently turn on right/left light and the green/red medium light and a knob that can adjust brightness. The unit fits well and is comfortable and the brightness is high and worked super well during a hike. The headlamp is wired to the back unit that sits on the back of the head which when turned on pulses red. This is a nice feature, however, you can’t take off the back unit as its the battery to power the front unit. It does provide more power to the front, but I fee like in certain situations when I’d rather have a sleeker set up and would prefer not to have a back brick. Overall, its a high quality headlamp, and when having enough power is important, this headlamp is great for that purpose. It even has the option to add on a battery pack on top of the back unit to provide 2x the power.

After charging and conducting a side-by-side comparison of this 1000 lumen headlamp with another 1000 lumen headlamp, I was happy to see that this headlamp by Coast was actually a touch brighter than the one from the other brand. It came in handy when we were camping and had to pack things up or find things after dark, and especially walking to the latrine in the middle of the night since I don’t have to put it down when doing my business. The tilt feature was nice for illuminating my path without having to physically look down. It also put our kids at ease when they heard a frightening sound and easily just turned their heads to look in the direction of the sound to find it was just a bunny. I don’t remember why but I had the focus beam feature on and looked up into a tree. I noticed how this light actually traveled a great distance, cutting through into the night sky. It was impressive.
Outside of a camping situation we’ve also used it if we forgot something in our vehicle. Much better than my car’s lights and also let’s me see where the car’s lights don’t reach. It even makes a great safety light when we’ve gone cycling in the evenings.
The battery lasts an entire weekend of camping for us with life to spare and it’s really convenient to plug in and recharge with just one source of input. The dial makes it easy to flip through the modes without being too loose and buttons on top press without much force, as well. The adjustable straps offer the flexibility to fit a nice variety of head sizes from my son (small), to myself (medium), to my husband (large). It’s pretty comfortable, doesn’t drag down, and is very light-weight compared to others we have. We tend to reach specifically for this headlamp when we need one so there’s no doubt this light will continue to get a lot of use from my family.
