Aesthetically very pleasing—Nice heavy and unobtrusive. Really wish the small boxy dimmer along the power cord (that is a few inches from the lamp base) was actually built into the base. The horizontal arm is too short to adequately light up the music book. We have to pull the lamp slightly off the edge and push back when not in use. Bummer. But the illumination is lovely. No perfect piano lamp out there.

Love the length and brightness of this piano lamp. And it looks gorgeous on my black studio piano. The only thing that would make this better is if they had built in the dimmer instead of it being a separate attachment. Otherwise, perfect and just what I wanted. Not cheap, but hopefully it lasts a long time!!

A beautiful and highly functional accessory for a black Yamaha U1 with brass trim. The focused light on music sheet and the keyboard with a dark background would help the pianist focus more on the music – no kidding. One can slightly adjust the angle of the light backward and move the base around a bit so the light does not shine into the eyes of very young pianists (e.g. a five year old). Our nine year old does not have a problem at all. The light is on the slightly brighter side – but I would rather have a slightly brighter light than a slightly dimmer light. The lamp is of such high quality that it would work well for a professional pianist. Wish there were a dimmer switch included. It is by no means cheap but there were simply no better alternatives after extensive research (we did try a couple of cheaper alternatives; none worked well enough).
Update on dimmer: Tried both Lutron TT-300NLH-BL (by mistake) and TTCL-100H-BL. None worked as a dimmer for this light.

This is the piano lamp for Console Pianos. Pictures shown are of my Yamaha P2. I am so proud and grateful for such a nice instrument in my home. The sound is exemplary of what Yamaha intended for the music lover to appreciate great quality. The cherry on top of the whipped cream is my Cocoweb Piano Lamp. Wow! The warm LED lights provide excellent coverage over the keyboard and most especially over the music whether I am using 4 pages simultaneously or two pages at once. While owning a black piano I have come to the conclusion that “Black isn’t only a color, it’s a hobby” and this lamp will display the dust to help keep me accountable for taking care of the finish. I am overwhelmingly blessed and tremendously thankful for such a nice instrument and a beautiful lamp to display to those who visit my home.

I bought this Cocoweb piano light for my son. He practices on our old, very tall Steinway. It’s challenging to find a light for it because of the height. This light is beautiful. Heavy duty base, well crafted, and packed extremely well. The company seems outstanding as there is a note in the box to call them if any issues rather than returning to seller as they want the opportunity to fix any problem. I like that. I can’t attest to longevity bc it’s day 1 but I am happy with my investment in the lamp. I have had it in my saved cart for over a year. I was held back by the price but turns out there are no other lower height lights that I could find. This lamp seems 100% worth the cost.

This is the Cocoweb piano lamp you want for an upright piano. The other cocowebs are designed for grands. I have one of each lamp model and this is perfect for uprights!
The LED light is strong, very adjustable in brightness with a handy twisting knob for this. I was worried about getting a good position with the light shining directly on the music and not in my eyes or my child’s eyes (since we are different heights.) Even with a first grader and a full tall upright, the position is exactly right.
Adjustments one can make: move the lamp to the front of the piano top and tilt/angle the lamp head downward towards the music stand.
Other reviews had mentioned it tilts the wrong way but I did not find this; it tilts as it should (toward the music and away from your eyes).
Why on earth would you spend this much on a lamp?: It is gorgeous. An instant upgrade to any piano, and the light is so good. You really can see sheet music more easily compared to a normal all-purpose lamp.
A composer I respect said “This lamp really must be purchased. What are you waiting for? Just buy it and you will thank me later.” I took that advice and it was spot-on!

Initially I was hesitant about spending so much on a light. However, after reading a posting in piano form where a person bought a new U1 piano and a traditional piano light, which toppled over and damaged the polished ebony finish, I decided this light was a good investment when considering the cost of the piano. The base of the light is heavy so you do not have to worry about it falling over onto your piano. The light (which is good for 50,000 hours) is bright and makes reading music easy. The light also lights up the keyboard as well. I had read some reviews where the light shined in the person’s eyes. I am 5″6 and do not have this problem. I am very pleased with my purchase and would recommend this light. From reading other postings I understand once the light goes out a new one has to be purchased. The light does not have a bulb, it is some type of electronic device that is the length of the shade. The light is attractive and blends in with the polished ebony finish.
