Only 4 stars because it’s awkward to set up. It should have a locking system for the bottom seat portion like the back of the chair. . It also has a screw on each side of inside arm rest that keeps scratching my arms. Capt. Crabbie is going to switch it out w/an “acorn” nut so the screw doesn’t scratch me. If they could add a lock so the chair legs don’t close up when you move chair just a tad that would make this chair a 5 star review

Absolutely love Coleman sling chairs and this one is very unique with the old school 50’s look of the wood arms. Premium construction in the tubing used and fabric and sewing. Coleman has been a part of my life since my twenties scuba diving and camping with my metal green Coleman ice chest. The brand excites me because of the years of good times and it pleases me so much that this company has held fast to premium quality in its gear and products. They have not sold out with cheap garbage they keep everything they offer to a supreme level of design, quality, and comfort. The slingback comes up and meets my lower back supporting it not some hollowed-out sack to sit in. The chair is gorgeous as well and has a premium look in from of our campsite or RV. I no longer scuba dive but this brand and products always bring that excitement back.

We’ve amassed quite a collection of portable chairs for many youth-sports-spectator scenarios and we bought two of these chairs for a travel meet. I would not describe this chair as compact or ultra-lightweight but it isn’t crazy heavy. It’s portable and easy to transport especially if you have one of those pull wagons which I wished for after walking about 3/4 of a mile with one of these plus other gear slung across my body.
I really hate the way most camp chairs look and feel and this chair is easy on the eyes and most importantly, it’s very comfortable and supportive for many hours of sitting.
There’s a little bit of a learning curve with the relationship between the recline settings and physically picking up/moving the chair—every time I instinctively used the armrests to lift or even pull the chair a few inches into shade, the action would easily unlock the chair’s recline setting which would then set the whole chair frame into its collapsing motion for compact transport. Don’t get me wrong, the chair is solid when opened into a seat position and will stay that way—it won’t spontaneously go limp but I did find this aspect a bit tedious and haven’t yet had another opportunity to figure out how to avoid that—I’m assuming there’s a way.

Coleman have made the perfect camping chair! I have spent a long time looking for something like this and it really is perfect for a camping trip. Extremely comfortable, and I’m still able to just about rest my head on the backrest (I’m 6ft3). The recline feature is an added bonus and the chair packs away nicely.

The concept of this sling chair is simple. A ratchet, engaged by lifting the armrests, allows you to recline in three different positions. That said, I have not seen its like among other camping chairs. Each of the three positions is very comfortable. You can lay back quite far. The high back completes the package allowing you to rest your head back. I am 6’3″, and my head was still supported (just barely).
The chair folds up like most other camping chairs, and it fits in the included bag. It is, however, larger and heavier than most others. The high back requires a larger size and the reclining mechanisms account for the weight. It is not something you want to carry on a hike or other long distances. It is great for camping and backyard activities.
The green color and natural wood armrests give the chair a retro look, and it reminds me of camping gear from my parent’s generation. The whole chair is well-built, and I anticipate that the reclining mechanisms will last a long time. It is now my favorite chair and even beats out my GCI rocker, which previously held the top spot.

the chair is comfortable. Packs down reasonably well compared to some others that I have had.

The Coleman folding chair I purchased is very comfortable and has a nice recline feature. I’ve actually been using it in my living room while it’s raining out. However, it is a little bit on the heavier side and can be a bit difficult to fold, so it would be better suited for a patio rather than taking it to the beach or park. The design is very attractive, but the folding mechanism can pinch you if you’re not careful. Overall, it’s an great chair that serves its purpose for outdoor seating, but it’s not the best option if you’re looking for something lightweight or easy to transport.

Took it camping in the mountains and found this chair to be too unstable on rough ground plus too heavy and awkward to load and unload. Went back to my old reliable Coleman chair with a lower backrest yet somehow felt more comfortable and easier to use for car camping with a tent. Will use this chair mainly on my deck in the city.

Beautiful & functional chair does the job and feels sturdy. Different positions allow for enjoying what different moments require. Very happy 😊
