Bought this as a used guitar on Amazon at a really good price with a gig bag. Loved it and took it to my luthier to have it checked out. He liked it until he saw that the bridge was becoming unglued from the guitar. He told me that that was probably why I got it for such a good price. He suspected that it had been kept in a hot warehouse for a while and that caused the problem. I returned it and received my money back. Very disappointed. Like my luthier said, “If it is too good to be true, it probably is not true.”

I snagged this beauty during a holiday sale here on Amazon and this baby is wonderful for the price. I previously had the Lucero LC100 Classical Guitar Black (Black) which I was completely happy with as a beginner. When it got damaged beyond repair, I looked into the Cordoba Dolce 7/8 Size Classical Guitar which was absolutely wonderful but I decided I didn’t really like the size, so after liking the Cordoba brand I decided on the C5.
It is absolutely a wonderful guitar at this price range. The Lucero was great for my level and it was decent enough to look at but the C5 has a vibrancy and deep tone to it that I was surprised to hear from a budget guitar. While it isn’t it the prettiest guitar out there, it’s by no means ugly. Even though mass produced a lot of quality is still apparent in this guitar.
The smell of this guitar is also amazing. It doesn’t have the cheap wood glue smell of other low-end guitars, but a nice rich smell of wood. Even after a few months, kept in a humicase, the sound is great and that fresh wood smell is still present.
All praise aside, it is not a flawless guitar. My main complaint would be that the action is really high but this is something that is pretty common with new guitars, especially those at a lower price range. Not necessarily a flaw but something to be aware of: being a cedar guitar, the wood is very soft so I recommend wear soft clothing without buttons or zippers on it while playing because these will leave small dents on the back of the guitar.
I do enjoy the padded gig bag and thought that it was a nice touch to the package. It is a high-quality gig bag with lots of padding. Inside the bag is a velcro neck rest with a strap to keep the guitar in place. It also has a large front packet that is large enough for a few music books. When I ordered this guitar from Amazon, the guitar shipped inside the gig bag and inside of a big box. I had no issues with shipping and the guitar arrived safely.
Overall, I do not regret this purchase and once I take it in for a setup to get the action lowered, it will be a superb guitar that I will enjoy for years. Highly recommended!

I bought this to use in teaching myself to play the guitar, after reading reviews on a bunch of alternatives. It was made in China, but the quality looks good, inside and out, and it arrived well-packed and in good shape. I knew a classical might be a little tougher to play than the electric I also bought, and it is, but its a lot of fun to learn on and the sound is really excellent: I think this might be enough of an acoustic to keep me happy for quite a while. For the price I think this is a really good instrument: I went to the local Guitar Center and tried out a number of more expensive classical guitars that didn’t feel or sound any better to me.

The way in which this incredible guitar finally got to me was a little complicated. At first, amazon (via some random music distributor in gardena ca) shipped me what was a used cordoba c5. The strings, once tuned, didnt lose tuning at all..meaning they were previously used. The fretboard had junk built up next to the frets (from being played) and the neck itself was bent way out, making the action way too high. To top it all off, there was a noticeable scrape on the soundboard leaving exposed cedar to the air. The finishing was chipping off from that point which would mean that the issue would only get worse. To sum it up, I was very bummed out and decided that I would send it back and exchange it for another (which is why I bought it through amazon, I know exchanging stuff is really easy). I printed out the appropriate things and took the guitar and the box it came in to a ups store and they shipped it off free of charge (excluding the dollar for tape). Apparently, when I made the exchange request on the amazon site, they immediately shipped out the second guitar and refunded my money (which I found out through a phone call with the company) and I would then be charged for the guitar if I decided to keep the one that was sent to me (upon a phone call to confirm this to amazon). Four days after I shipped out the old used rubbish (I live in hawaii btw, shipping usually takes a while) a brand new beautiful work of art showed up in my po box. This one was wrapped in plastic-y foam wrap and also were the strings themselves. I can easily say that the second guitar I received is a brand new never used guitar and was set up perfectly ready for me to play. This is why I am still giving this 5-star guitar (in its price range of course) 5 stars, amazon was great with dealing with the situation appropriately and getting me what I needed much faster than expected. The next day, after shipping the guitar out, I noticed on the amazon site (the page for this guitar) it said that the “seller was under review”, which to me was a sign that amazon is truly on their game, and I have noticed that they have changed their distributor for the guitar. Another reason why I am giving 5 stars for the guitar and for amazon.
I am so happy with this guitar and I believe that for $300 it would be impossible to find a better sounding and better playing guitar. Not to mention the workmanship is on par with guitars costing twice what they ask for this. Compared to my friends alvarez costing him $1000, there isnt much of a difference. There is a slight one, his sounding a little more full bodied, but from the cost standpoint not much of a difference (to me at least). If you are on the fence about buying this guitar, just go for it. I can pretty much guarantee that you will be satisfied with this guitar. And if what you receieve is not a brand new and perfect=playing guitar, send it back for an exchange. Thats the beauty of using the system to your advantage, as long as you go through amazon atleast. Your essentially guaranteed a stellar product. You will eventually get what you paid for, which is a great sounding handmade classical that provides incredible tone and playability. A great guitar.
