I didn’t start carrying a bike multi tool until recently while planning for a MTB trip. I didn’t want to get caught without tools on the trail so I chose this one. It came in handy when I was dialing in my new MTB shoes. At first I was..”oh great, now I have to ride back home…”, then I remembered this tool. I was able to reposition my cleats trail-side. It performed flawlessly and it already started to pay off.
If you ride a road bike, you may not like it’s weight. It weights in at 7 oz. which feels energy sapping when you hold it in your hands. The things I carry in my pockets are phone, pump, spare, patch kit, levers. All that weights 1 lb 3oz. So the will be noticeable. But, I wouldn’t want to get caught without tools far from home so maybe piece of mind will outweigh the weight of the tool.
The tool itself does not open by itself and when a tool is extended, it stays extended. It is nicely designed with appointments like, knurled areas, black bolts and engraved logo and size markings on the allen wrenches and chain tool. It feels nice holding it in your hands with no sharp edges or corners. It also comes in a nice aluminum case where the tool slides in with precision. The outside of the case has a brushed aluminum texture while the inside is smooth as glass. Once inserted, the tool does not rattle while in the case. A lot of thought went into designing just the case alone. To me, it is the little details that really reveals quality and Crank Bros is still up to their old tricks.
Crank Bros has ALWAYS made quality stuff ever since the early mtb and bmx days. They continue their legacy with this multi tool. I am happy some companies never change.

I bought this back in 2010 and it’s been great, everything you could ever need for trail repairs and more. It’s still in perfect working order after lots of use, I’m only replacing it now after loosing the spoke key which was my fault. Can’t recommend highly enough and it’s now less money than in 2010, bargain.

I really like this little tool. The chain breaker is a bit overkill, as it’s not a great breaker tool, but designed for in a pinch, I suppose. Really solidly built. All the sizes of hex I’d need on the road. The tools are a little short to reach some adjuster screws, so not a complete tool, but good enough for the kind of stuff you’d need to fix mid-ride. I got the gold.
The case that comes with it is pretty rudimentary. A curved box with a snap on lid. Not comfortable or great, but keeps dirt and grime out, so does the trick for the most part. (I also keep it in a small saddle bag, so protected in there, too.)

No conocía esta marca pero me han hablado muy bien de ella y me he lanzado comprar esta multiherramienta que para la bici creo que esta más que bien.
La podemos encontrar en varias configuraciones y yo he optado por la de 19 funciones porque básicamente y aunque tenga herramientas que no llegue a usar como el destornillador pequeño, me costaba lo mismo que la de 17componentes.
Viene con una caja de metal que esta muy bien para guardarla en casa, pero que en la bici nos hace llevar un poco de paso extra, por lo que yo la dejo en casa y aunque es de aluminio, persa 45 gramos.
La herramienta es de acero y el peso es de 172 gramos. Esta en la línea de otras que he visto.
Viene con Herramienta para la cadena para 8,9,10,11,12 velocidades, Llaves hexagonales: 2, 2.5, 3, 4 ,5, 6, 8, Llave abierta 8 y 10 mm, Destornilladores Philips grande y pequeño y uno plano grande, Llave para radios radios 0, 1, 2, 3 y Llave Torx T-10, T-25. Vamos que trae de todo.
He visto en algunas fotos que se oxida, pero eso le pasa a todas las herramientas de acero que no son inoxidables. Esto se puede evitar con un buen mantenimiento o rociándolas con un poco de 3 en 1 cuando estemos largos periodos sin usarlas. Yo al menos es lo que hago.
Buena herramienta la verdad, a mi me gusta bastante.

I bought one of these back in 2019 when I first got into cycling. It currently lives on my mountain bike where I use it for emergencies or trail side adjustments. It even functioned as my shop chain tool for about 2 years until I bought an actual tool. I purchased a gravel bike and I wanted another multitool that could live on my new bike. Ive trusted this multitool for many years and I don’t think there are many options that are better. I debated purchasing the F15 multitool from Crankbrothers, however I couldn’t beat the price, reliability, durability, and dependability of this tool. This has every tool I could ask for and I’ve never had any issues! If you are on the fence just pull the trigger, trust me.
