Really well written and laid out. Set up so you can be flexible with how you want to schedule it and use it for a variety of ages. Fantastic to find an elementary astronomy course with a creationist/christian viewpoint.

We have really enjoyed this so far. It seems like a ton of information to take in at once, but my 6 year old can recall a lot of information from the text even weeks after reading the chapters. I feel like it follows a Classical style of learning, which we both enjoy. Taking little breaks throughout the chapter to recap what we’ve read helps him not to become overwhelmed by the huge amount of wonderful information.

This series of Exploring Creating is just phenomenal. The first one we got I was learning SO much! And I am the teacher! These are written to the reader in a conversational manner, making it a very pleasant experience for even the young reader. There are kits out there you can get that have all you need to do the experiments, but the author was gracious and usually uses only common items one can easily get or likely things you already have. The notebooks are a good thing, too. My daughter got this in the mail, and was reading it weeks before her class began! That’s the biggest compliment a textbook could have!

We really enjoy this book. I am using it with my 1st & 3rd graders. They look forward to this subject every single day. It has wonderful information about each facet of our solar system in easy to understand language. My children are still in awe of the chapter on the sun. The book has a Christian author, so it teaches creation, but I don’t have an issue with that. I plan to continue with the other elementary Apologia books when we finish this one, because it has been a blast to teach (and learn!) from this book. We use the Junior Astronomy Notebooking Journal with book, which I also recommend.

Love this curriculum! My 7 year old is so into it, and I can really appreciate the teaching of creation into it. It gives you choices on what to believe in, saying scientists are not always right, and most things are theory. It really helps to see things in a different perspective. This is a great study! I recommend it for most ages in elementary school! The projects to go along with it are really neat and fun to do also, we got the journal to go along with this, and I highly recommend that as well.

This is a great book. We use it in our homeschooling curriculum every day and my young boys (only six and four) love it so much that we are finishing it in a very short period of time. However, I don’t read some of the creationism ideas that seem a little over the top. For example, today we were reading on page 145 where it says, “Black holes point to a universe that is groaning from the decay forced upon it by Satan and the sin of man.” I am a Christian and proud of it, but there are times when the author is trying so hard to teach about our Father in Heaven’s role in creating all things that she just makes stuff up. I just wish she didn’t push it so hard. Nevertheless, will will be continuing with the Exploring Creation series. It is, for the most part, well written, and full of great pictures and fun science projects.

Excited to start this next term. Kids are already into it and telling me all about. Great to have resources they are motivated to engage with on their own.

This was the first from the Exploring Creation series that I used. Initially I used it with my son for Kinder-1st grade. He is the type who enjoys quiet work and was fascinated by the beautiful color photos and warmly written explanations. I especially enjoy the sections that tie in the new learning with creation proof. For each chapter there are two or three experiments with things most people can find around the house or from a quick run to the grocery or drug store. The text suggests keeping a notebook which not only helps the students retain their learning, but results in a beautiful keepsake they can refer back to over and over. I recommend this series all the time, and while I was so tempted to keep the set I couldn’t help but share it with other families! I am ordering this for my 2nd child now and can’t wait to bring her on the journey to space and the wonders of creation therein!

My kids loved this whole series and the upper grades as well. They insisted I keep them when they were done learning from them. Now what curriculum is like that?! One went into nursing and the other into engineering and not only excelled in their science classes, but truly loved science. I attribute that love to Jay Wile and his team of authors such as Jeannie Fulbright.
