We’ve owned our Cuisinart CPB-300 SmartPower Blender for nearly three years. Here are our experiences with the blender.
Cuisinart CPB-300 SmartPower Blender First, a bit of background. Over the years we have owned inexpensive $20 manual juicers, $380 Blendtec blenders, and pretty much everything in between. We love making fresh meals with fresh ingredients; blenders help with that quest. So we believe strongly in having a good quality blender that does its job properly.
The Cuisinart CPB-300 certainly isn’t as high-powered as the Blendtec – but it’s also about a sixth of the cost. Also, the selection of different sized containers that you can blend right into is incredibly convenient. You want a small amount of salsa to drizzle over that main dish? You’ve got it. Want a larger smoothie to enjoy for lunch? The container has a lid so you can take it with you.
It’s important to know what this blender can and cannot do. It’s got a 350 watt motor. So yes, I can make a smoothie with frozen peaches, frozen strawberries, soy milk, and spinach. It’s able to handle them. But I do it with pulses and make sure I’ve got adequate liquid around the frozen fruits to handle it. If you try to make the blades push against something hard, like a dry pile of wedged ice, it’s going to have problems.
So, even though we have the Blendtec, we quite often use the Cuisinart for a variety of reasons. It’s nice to have the different containers that can switch out. It’s very easy to clean up. The smoothies and shakes are delicious and nutritious.
Are there any down sides? Again, there are challenges the Cuisinart just can’t handle. And that’s fine. It’s not meant for chowing down solid ice. With that knowledge, we adore our Cuisinart. It does what it should, it does it well, and it’s held up for years.
Highly recommended.
We purchased our Cuisinart from Amazon with our own funds.

I ordered this device from Amazon SG and it doesn’t list anywhere the power voltage. It only works on 110V. I have to order a step-down transformer before I can use it. Should list the power requirements of the device. Everything was packed well and delivered in good condition.

Funciona perfectamente bien, tiene la mejor potencia. Ideal para todo y muy practica para licuados “ready to go” ya tengo muchos meses con la licuadora Dino que casi un año y fue muy buena adquisición, 100% recomendable.

**Updated 7/4/18: Edit: I don’t use it every day, but I’ve had this thing for 7 years and it STILL works like a charm. The cups havent stained or cracked, the blades havent rusted. One of the removable rubber seals cracked, and that’s it.**
This little thing is AWESOME. I’ve had it for a week now, and have used it every day for making smoothies, and once for homemade hummus. Some notes for those who might be interested in purchasing this:
1) It doesn’t take over your counter top – the base is small enough to leave out, which is nice, especially if you use it every day (or would use it everyday if you could only leave it out on the counter :)!
2) It’s more for beverages or things you want really, really smooth; it’s not for food prep like chopping – you’ll end up getting baby food. (Get a food processor if you’re looking for chopping.)
3) It’s as easy as the ad says: put your stuff into the cups, screw on the blade, put it in the machine and select speed. Voila!
4) Pay attention to the “MAX” line on the cup, otherwise you won’t be able to screw on the blade. (And to guarantee it will fit, put the hard items on the bottom of the cup, like ice or fruit, and top with the liquids so you’re not fighting ice with the blade. 🙂
5) The to-go lids screw on tightly, but do NOT have a covered mouthpiece so they are not for those in need of spill-proof lids.
6) This thing is powerful, so start on low pulse. I used high once and it smelled like it was burning so after reading the directions, I learned that it’s because it’s powerful on low when making something like a smoothie and you don’t need high except with thick stuff (like hummus).
7) Read the directions. They’re short and sweet: 3 steps for each type of cup/blade.
8) Make sure you use the right blade. (see #7) Otherwise it won’t work as well.
9) BUY THIS! YOU WILL LOVE IT! It’s so much better than the Magic Bullet – more powerful, more convenient, better cups, and easier to clean.
It comes with a recipe book, which I haven’t used at all. My only complaint is in regard to the lids for the to-go cups. I don’t know anyone who prefers an open mouth lid on a to-go cup. I’m not sure if they’re available for sale or not. I shopped around for a while to find one with similar features, and for the power, what you get and the price, it’s totally money well-spent!!

I was a Magic Bullet fan for many, many, years. So much so, that I purchased another full and bigger set when my original Bullet finally died. After repeated problems with the new Bullet (including purchasing and receiving multiple replacements within a few months), I decided to cut my losses and purchased the Cuisinart. WOW! What a huge difference! I should have purchased this system to begin with!
The motor is really strong. No, it does not rip off the bottom when you try ice cubes as someone else reported. I watched the video on using the unit, and then tried everything in the video for myself. Crushing ice was quick and easy -and the ice was like snow -as shown in the video. Everything worked as advertised.
The cups are tall and slim. I bought a bottle brush and they clean easily. I really like the sip cup tops, but do wish they came with storage tops. There is one supplied, but would have liked more. The blade is REALLY sharp, and I do use extra care when handling it.
What I like best- you simply prepare your drink, screw on the blade , turn over the cup and place the unit into the blender. The cup seats itself, and a red light appears when the cup is properly seated. Press the start button, and in seconds, your drink is ready. No pushing down like on the Bullet. The time to complete the process is a fraction of the time it took the Bullet -when it would even work!
The Bullet had more accessories, but less can better! This comes with a pitche type accessory, 4cups and lids, and a mixing cup with closed top. That is all I found I REALLY need. The motor is very powerful and I am really pleased with this purchase. I use my Cuisinart 2-3 ties a day. It is stainless and black, and looks nice on the counter.
I highly recommend the Cuisinart 300 SmartPower blender -looks good, works great, and is dependable!!!
