There is not much choice for the four stringed mountain dulcimer but these from the large guitar company D’Addario are great and not expensive. Some sets from bespoke companies are 3 times more. For the average player, you are not going to notice.

Inherited an old dulcimer that was improperly strung so it was great to be able to order these and get them in just a couple days. Each string was nicely labeled. They installed easily. Be aware the ones I bought have loop ends so make sure that’s what you need. I think they are available with ball ends also so check before you order.
