My 1st 2350dn printer was shipped very quickly and without any damage. However, something was wrong with the printer, because when it printed, it sounded like it was mixing cement…

Dell was very quick to ship me out a “reconditioned” replacement via FedEx. However, the printer ended up in WA and not SC. Two weeks later, the replacement arrived with an included prepaid FedEx label. Two days later FedEx picked up the defective one.

This printer has something like a 200 page instruction manual. It looks like someone wrote it as a PhD Thesis. The printer also has a lot more options than I would ever require during my lifetime.

I’m not going to give this model 5-stars, because it sounds louder than the VERY-VERY-SIMILAR Dell 1720dn that it’s replacing. However, the noise level won’t cause you to put your fingers in your ears — it just makes you aware that it’s printing. It also seems slower when starting up — I could be wrong.

Conclusion: Buy it, you’ll like its design. 6,000 page toner refill only cost 60 bucks.

It prints fast and black. If that’s what you need go with this. It is a sharp looking printer that is easy on the budget too. you can get your ink from Dell or 3rd party sites. but dell might try to make the 3rd party ink not work with firmware updates. Just fyi.

Basic printing is ok but tends to over-ink. Dealing with Dell is frustrating and time-wasting. Their technical support is not comfortable for Macs. Web site is a runaround. No manual included. On-line the manual is formatted for PC’s. I have an iMac could not open the file. Took two hours to get the information when one of their technical support people finally reformatted into pdf and e-mailed the manual. But, I had to be fairly insistent and persistent. This should not have been necessary. Dell claims I had bought the printer a month before I had done so and, because the printer’s manual feed did not work, send me a refurbished printer although I had purchased the new printer only a week before contacting them. I had to get my states attorney general involved in order for them to send a new, not refurbished, printer. Dell is still claiming what functionally is an 11-month warranty.

I replaced my previous 2350 when the envelope printer stopped printing clear envelopes as it was more expensive to fix than the cost of a new printer. As it turns out, the new one is no better. The regular 8.5 x 11 sheet printing works great. Unfortunately I can’t return the printer because we already scratched the printer.

I tried to purchase these printers from Dell but they where already discontinued due to their latest model. I already have an office with a couple of these and needed one more so that I would not have to have a separate toner cartridge for just this one. We already have a bunch of toner cartridges for the other printers so this saved us money. On the down side, this printer is a little noisy but it is very fast and the web interface is easy to navigate.

This printer is noisy. People keep asking me what is wrong with it when they hear it print. It has been installed for two weeks and works well so far. I use it as my personal office printer, it replaced an HP 4100 which was a decade old but much quieter. It is much louder than numerous HP and Brother printers in our office.
