I am a fan of Mr Cusick and I bought the DVD because he is listed as being in the show. He does not appear once. This is not the movie that he made. This is a dry-as-the-bones-they-are-digging-up documentary where the most interesting thing was the red hat decorated with elephants that one of the scientists wore. If you enjoy going to the videos presented in those little theaters at museums, you might like this video.

I loved it. Find out more about the triassic triassic and cretaceous creatures and the different reasons they died out keeps me interested. I try to get the kids interested so the don’t just see super Mario.

Not long ago I got a copy of Michael Novacek’s book, “Dinosaurs of the Flaming Cliffs,” covering this topic. Unbelievable hardships suffered by the scientific team from the American Museum of Natural History. This video is a great supplement to the book as it vividly shows what it was like to re-visit the old stamping grounds of Roy Chapman Andrews, some 70 years later. (There are also some film clips and still photos from the 1920’s expedition led by Andrews I had never seen before). Hard to believe that the scientific team with prominent jobs back in NYC would literally risk their lives in the wild, barren Gobi desert. But they did so and to great effect. We need more videos and TV shows like this to bring us up to date on the latest fossil findings around the world, including China, Africa, Antarctica, and of course the western U. S.
